I want to make a new button called "Advanced Buildings" for the worker units for a Total Conversion I'm going to be working on, and I'm not quite sure how. I thought maybe the "Construct Building" button was an ability, but it isn't. I'm going to also have to add a new field into the editor for the button called "Advanced Buildings contructed". Any hints or help on how I would make another buildings menu would be very helpful. (Think Starcraft type building buttons.) |

Your Idea is a challenge, And the best thing I can think is: A) Create an ability from the spellbook ability b) Give it the Tiny building items abilities. c) Give your new spellbook ability to the worker Hope it works If it works, you just need to change the tiny building abilities stuff |

D'oh! That's a very workable idea! I will try it and tell you what happens, thanks! |

Well, it's nice except for two things. The buttons for the buildings move around. They are always overlapping eachother though I have their button positions as 0,0 and 1,0. The second thing is that I can't make them cost money without triggers, and since this is a TC and not a map, it will ba hard to do so. Hmm.. |

The Project Revolution have done it in a way like this (if you need a better explanition tell me): They have a unit with a blank ability that does nothing except being clickable named "Advanced Build", when you click it a trigger starts and it replaces your old unit with a new one that can build the advanced buildings, the trigger clicks the created units build button and it looks like your worker has a advanced build. Only negative thing about this is that you can't make the computer to use it, but you might not want it to do either... (Hope you get the idea) |

the spell book spell has a habbit oth over lapping when 2 abilities either are original form the same code or if you havent set the minimum to the same as maximum number of spells to use in it. even if you get this to work you will have one big problem left and that is that the buildings will cost mana and not gold and lumber |

OK ALL YOU NEED TO DO, IS FIND A SPELL OR ABILITY THAT TAKES THE SECOND SLOT. THEN MAKE THAT ABILITY HAVE EXACLTY EVERYTHING THE CONSTRUCT ABILITY DOES. THEN. MAKE THE BUILDINGS OF YOUR CHOOSING OR IF THAT DOESNT WORK, MAKE ADVANCED WORKERS WHO BUILDER HIGHER TIER BUILDINGS.:D |

Im not 100% sure what u are looking for but I will give this a crack.. Copy your peon. Change what it can build to the buildings you want. Add a bear form spell that has one as the original and another as the new one u have just created. Add this spell to both those units. Have that button for the spell appear bottom right so 3,2 There should be no conflicts and with this system you could have an endless amount of buildings the worker can build. If this is not what u wanted let me know. Good Luck. If you want to permanently upgrade your peon then read this link.... http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/s...threadid=21585 |
