Yeah, I kinda wondered why WinMPQ was so slow at opening big MPQ files, and I made this BigMPQSpecificExtractor. It opens up big MPQ-files WAY faster ;) Edited because: HollowMan put in the storm.dll file from the retail (and keeps moving the page around), here's the NEW download: Get it @ Wc3Mappers.Wc3Campaigns. Greetz, DJBnJack Ps. I just made it for fun, but do feel free to use it and check out the source! |

Yeah, if you mean when one tries to extract more than let's say 25 - 50 files from the MPQ it's getting a bit 'stressed' I'm working on this, but I hope to get that a bit better ;) As for when not extracting files from any mpq, it should take ~20mb when you've loaded your war3beta.mpq (that's about 3 opened internet explorer windows) I wouldn't say that's too much, is it? Greetz, DJBnJack Ps. I'm running WinXP Pro, so that might make the difference |

Maybe it's computer dependent, when I open up photoshop 6, I can't open up anything else and my system feels like an 386 (I can hardly use that proggie) But I can open up like 40 internet windows... Greetz, DJBnJack Ps. I 'only' have 256mb DDR, that stuff is expensive like hell here in NL |

The only downfall is that u cannot edit the mpq file directly, u can only export files, u should fix that. But its so fast i hate dose slow madda fakkaz, so plzzz make it like winmpq but WAAAAYY faster bcuz it takes like 5mins to load a mpq in winmpq and when u only change the name of a thing i takes 5 more mins. |

Guest | why would you edit the main mpq files or the patch mpq? If you use it to edit the smaller ones like w3m map files then you can use winmpq. Bigmpq extractor is only usefull for extracting files from very big mpq's, at least thats what I sue it for |

Please give the >precise< error! I'm sorry, I can't give much help, except that you should leave the directory structure intact while extracting it. (can't think of much else that can go wrong) Greetz, DJBnJack |
