Is there a way to edit the names and descriptions of spells? Like, change the name of the Healing Ward spell to Place Land Mine. Anyone tell me how?

Thanks...

The 12 step process:

Step 1: Go to the downloads page and download MPQ Viewer.

Step 2: Download mpq2k (or, even better, World Editor Enhanced Blink!).

Step 3: Install both applications.

Step 4: Run MPQ Viewer.

Step 5: Click File -> Open Archive... and choose war3.mpq from your Warcraft III directory.

Step 6: Select (listfile), then click File -> Save... and save it as war3list.txt.

Step 7: Click File -> Open Data File... and select war3list.txt which you just saved. You should now see a huge list of files.

Step 8: At the lower right where it says "Filter" type *.txt

Step 9: Locate the files BlackDick listed above

Step 10: If you want to change names and descriptions of healing wards, extract OrcAbilityStrings.txt. You can extract OrcAbilityFunc.txt to change other things like art, upgrade requirements, whatever.

Step 11: Edit OrcAbilityStrings.txt as you wish. Save it wherever you have mpq2k.exe installed.

Step 12: Save your map in the same folder as mpq2k.exe. Then execute the following command in DOS:
mpq2k a <yourmapname>.w3m OrcAbilityStrings.txt Units\OrcAbilityStrings.txt

Done. If the Prophets are smiling on you, the healing wards should be called whatever you changed it to when you play the map. If you then open your map again in WE and save it, you will have to repeat Step 12.
