Guest | Humph hehe...I know this is probably a simple question for most of you, but not for me....The Warcraft 3 World Editor comes with a help file...no matter how basic it is. In it, under Map Creation and Settings, it says that you can enter any number in the width and height section between 16 and 256....this is the first thing that is wrong. It only lets you chose from a predetermined amount. The second thing is that it says there are the normal size types, Tiny, Small, Medium, and Large. But it also says that there's Huge and Epic. I cannot figure out how to get the Huge and Epic to appear though. Every time I try to make both height and width 256, the one not selected goes down to 128. Did they not update their help file or what? I could really use an "epic" map for a map that I'm working on now, but it doesn't seem that it's supported... I dunno, maybe someone out there can shine some light on this :) |

Guest | Yup, I know...I'm working on an epic map, one that'll *HOPEFULLY* be worth downloading....it's a crossover from SC, with a few twists of War3 and my own hehehe, anyway thanks again, though your files were empty when I tried using them, I think I can figure it out :) Thanks again |

Guest | Hehe... seems as if both versions got corrupted during the upload - hence the 0 bytes file size. |

Guest | hehe thanks all you guys for your help with the map sizes. I got the map to get 256x256...the map size on the hard drive was going to be large anyway, so it didn't hurt too much. Thanks again for everyones help :) |

Guest | lol yeah that looks right, but you also have to change the Default map size to 256x256, or whatever you want it to be.... I had to use the other Beta world editor that's found on this site, I forget the name of it right now, but it is it's own little editor, it lets you do some things WE can't do...so I made the map in there, then opened it with the real WE and turned Autosave on, (seems autosave fixes everything :) ) |

I could be wrong but in the maps I've made over 224 x 224 there was always an error when trying to change the map description or loading screen. However, this can be changed by extracting a file from the .w3m and then putting it back in after you change it... |

Guest | you probably don't care, but this is what i did. I wanted a map with snow, grass, dirt, and some city stuff, with dirt/grass cliffs I wanted it to be 256 x 256. i started a map in zepir's editor, added snow to the tileset and made it 256 x 256 saved it. BAM. opened it in WE and removed some things i didn't need from the tile set and added some city stuff. saved it. BAM. used the mpq thing... and BAM!!! 256 x 256 map with everything i wanted |
