Ladies and Gentlement: The Model Editor

This is a pre-release screenshot of the type of things we can do with Daishi's new Model Editor. We call her "Dolly" in tribute to our favorite genetically engineered animal!

There will be more screenshots in the days to come with the final release in a few days. We just did this for the first time a few minutes ago so pardon the simplicity : )

Everybody stand up and cheer for DaishiOfDeath!!

Didn't know my editor was possible of such complexities. =)

Thanks for the screen shot Nub.

We'll be releasing a public version once we finish the Sarah model for the Public Human Campaign.

I'll be releasing the public version once we get the Sarah model done for the Human Campaign. I'm not trying to be a jerk or brag, I just don't think that releasing it this early on is going to help the average model, since there are still a number of bugs, and it's unreliable.

By the time the Sarah model is finished, this will be in a release version, with templates for creating models from scratch, and .obj imports/exports.

Yay! It will support animations and everything? Can't wait...

Hey, aint it possible to work around the .obj export/import part? I dunno if my stupid obj exporter for max is working correctly.

How about .3ds or .max import/export? :)

not animations yet, you can do them by editing values but we can't export/import animations yet. It's too complex to get into .3ds or .max formats at this point in time as they require more programming than Daishi has time for. When the release comes out it will more or less allow you to EDIT vertices in already created models. But right now we're working on trying to create templates for brand new models, though you'll have to add each vertex by hand, do all the faces and texture coordinates, as well as bones all by hand. A full on modelling program is a long way off, but once we get this going, it will be the foundation for that program.
