Horrible Lag

Whenever I place or move anything in my map, it takes about 5 seconds for it to actually create/move. And if I move something, it'll usually move horribly out of place because of the lag. This hasn't happened with my map in the normal WE. Is the TFTWE that different from the original? Or is it something about editing old WE maps in TFTWE?

What would lag have to do with world editor? If you have starting locations placed over doodads or other start locations, it lags things alot.

the we runs fine for me, but the object editor lags a LOT. especially when i change the name of a unit/item/ability... it takes around a minute after every rename, but everything else works fine. emote_confused

the lags cuz after each change WE searches thru every unit to change it to what u put.Try dling one of the nolag patches.

- No lag patches? Never heard of it. A link, mayhaps?

- ram wasn't the problem, it was the whole starting locations thing. Though I suppose I need more ram as well.

- I barely get any lag creating/altering custom abilitys or upgrades. Renaming units, creating units, and changing unit icons on the other hand take ~15 seconds of waiting (not 'lag', ogrim) until its done *shrug*

what i was taling about was one of the third party patches for WE
There are also third party progs that ONLY do units that have no lag watsoever.
theres a list of the useful progs somewhere around the place
Just search or hunt around this forum

See!? My starting locations thingy was right :D I have that problem all the time. I usually leave corners of the map free and spread the start locations around those.

I think that's an overkill.

A system which I think is decent enuf to run is like 1.3 GHz, 512 Memory, and GeForce 3. IMO, GeForce 2 isn't much fun.
