I'm working on an RPG map, and I have some questions...

Since I've explored around with the TFT editor and understand it now, I'm thinking of making my own multiplayer RPG, with cinematics and quests and everything, but first, I have some questions first...

1. What would you like to see in a multiplayer RPG? What would be good? I'm trying to think up some unique spells and classes, not just stuff like "Warrior" and "Mage". Also, what kind of special features, like quests and other stuff, would you like to see?

2. Cinematics are a problem. Whenever I try to make a cinematic, it works fine offline, in singleplayer, but then when played online, it usually skips by really fast, so fast that you can't read anything, and some parts of the text don't even show up at all. What am I doing wrong?

1. Just stay posted by here.. Alot of people will provide their ideas.. Like me.. :-D In due time that is.. if I think of any cool ideas.. I'll be sure to inform you of them.

2. Cinematics online can always be screwed up by lag, unfortunately.. Therefore I'd cut out some of the cinies.. In throw in more of a text based scene.. With the new floatie texts... You could probably come up with a good dialog system.

Palasade Champion

Palasade Wall - Creates sheild that ups defense and gives chance to stun attacker.

Sheild of Barbs - Throws out 3 sheilds like thunderclap and lowers enemies defenses.

Helm of Fear (passive) - Lowers enemy attack/defense.

Ultimate: Bright Sheild - Does 150 Damage to enemies within radious ; heals nearby friendly 200 hp.

Rockaku Assassin

Snap - 5/9/14% chance to deal sudden death

Phase - Transports to the back of a nearby enemy.

Esponiage - grant vision of targeted enemy unit.

Ultimate: Shadow Masters - Summons 5 illusionary duplicates that do 50% damage and have 75% hp.

Pesmerga

Titan - Does 2x damage for 10 seconds.

Chaos Shield - 10/20/30% chance to obsorb enemy magic.

Dragon Mail - 10/20/30% increased armor.

Ultimate: Rage - Obsorbs all damage for 10 seconds and realeases it on the enemy.

Vlad the Impaler

Decrepit - Unholy Bolt that decreases enemy units armor to 0.

Bane - Does 600 damage to any building.

Specter - Summons specter ; 23-35 dmg, lasts 60 secpnds.

Devour - Goes on a feeding rampage. Whatever damage is dealt at the end of 30 seconds is transformed into health for nearby allies.

Thats all for right now. Please give me credit and feel free to edit them in anyway.

Thanks for the class ideas, I'll consider using some of those in the actual game once I get a bit further on.

As for the cinematic bug, yeah, I was considering making it with the new popping up text, but I was just wondering if it was possible to do it in any way with the cinematics, just incase I'm missing something. Thanks for that.

So far, these are my ideas for classes:

- Slayer (Elven Swordsman)
- Berserker (Orcish Grunt)
- Sniper (Dwarven Rifleman)
- Sharpshooter (Night Elven Archer)
- Deathlord (Undead Dreadlord)
- Shielded Beetle (Undead Crypt Lord)
- Sorcerer (Elven Blood Mage)
- Druid (Night Elven Druid of the Claw)
- Shadow Priest (Orcish Shadow Hunter)
- Dark Magician (Undead Necromancer)
- Blood Ninja (Elven Spell Breaker)
- ShadowBlade (Night Elven Illidan)

So far, features include COMPLETELY custom spells up to level 5, even Ultimates (though you can't learn them until 6/11/16/21/26, etc...) and special quests, and a maximum hero level of 200, but that's just the beginning. I might add more with positive feedback.

Perhaps if this gets enough support, I will even post some screenshots of it in the future.

Actually, your heroes are excellent, but I'm just going to wait a bit longer first, to balance out the current heroes and fix up their skills and get a bit further, then I'll consider attacking some of the heroes you've posted. They're very good and original. :)

Also, keep in mind that for my map, at the moment I don't really have any way of modelling or making custom graphics right now, so I can't really make anything too complicated yet.

On the plus side, I've finished making all my heroes, and once I figure out the default spells, I'll work on making one or two of the heroes you specified, probably the Palasade Champion and the Rockaku Assassin, any specific models I should use for them?

heros sound great... except for skull crypt. if that was a heros name his model would have to be a building made for storing dead people made out of skulls. now color me strange or whatever but i dont think that a walking spell flinging flesh-house is gunna be the best idea for a hero. other than that heros look fantastic!:D

Thanks, I wasn't really intending it to be the Skull Crypt, I was going more along the lines of an "Armored Beetle" or "Shielded Crypt", but none of those sounded right, so I just stuck with Skull Crypt for the moment. I'll think of a better name that fits him, or just replace it completely.

I've been working on it a lot today, and if I have the time, I might post a few screenshots of it a bit later.

No way, you were really helpful, I love it when people give constructive criticism and advice, it helps to make the map better.

I'm starting the terrainwork right now, so I'll work on posting some pictures of the terrain later once I've done it a fair bit.

The cinematics thing isn't a bug. Don't criticize something you don't know ://// To make it work on b.net you have to do something very simple.

First, you have to make an integer variable. Name it whatever you want (for the sake of this brief explaination...lets name is peopleingamevariable)...then for every player in the game you have to make that variable increase by 1. So if there are 5 people in the game the variable would = 5.

Every time a person leaves the game the variable drops by 1.

Now, to make it so the cinematic doesn't skip through at a speed of 10 x the speed of light you have to simply do this..

"For every integer peopleingamevariable wait x seconds"......

TADA! ...
