Is there a way to make it so when you create a special effect at a point, that it actually does its damage? i.e. if i create a warstomp effect on a point, is there a way i can make it so it actually does its stuff (stun, dmg)?

Not directly. What you do it.....

Event - Blah
Action - Creaet special effect at region 0001
Action - Run Hurt

Hurt
Event- none
Action - (pick all units within region 0001) and do ((lower hp of picked unit)

Dont know the specific actions for lowering hp, but you get the gist.

Just create an invisible unit with the ability next where you want the special effect, cast the ability and remove the unit.

Well, in my nuke defense map, i have upgradable nukes. The new nukes still have the same basic attack, but new cool special effects come with it. I thought that this is kinda cool, but when theres thunderclaps going down and the units just walking thru em it looks kinda lame.

Hmm.. would that work for what im using it for? Basically when a unit attacks at a point, I move a crap load of regions to offsets of that point, and then at a certain time they trigger and a effect is created there. How would I create a unit at specifc points.. then cast.. remove.. arg.. that would be a bit messy.. no?

New problem. If i make the mountain king invisible, when he is moved/claps he isnt invisible. If i hide him, u cant see his effect. This is getting better and better :( :(

You should make it a model-less unit. Leave the "model" field blank in the unit editor. Then, there is no model to appear. You won't even need to bother with Invisibility, as you can make the unit Invulnerable and nothing will attack it.

Also make sure that you remove the unit shadow, for professionality's sake.
