1mb Map Worth it??

My map is now 1mb. I dont kno if it is worth it having it so big because it would taek long time to DL. Maybe not for cable too lnog but for 56k its immpossible. You think its worth it or no?

It's still worth it... just change the last boss for god's sake! :D

it doesnt really take that long to dl from 56k. its only one 1mb!

Way to long to download of a hosted game on battle.net, but not to long for someone to dl of a site, then play it on b.net (problem is getting enough people to dl it of the site so that they can all play the game).

lol.. i guess u guys never tried to download a 500kb map off b.net and the host of the game.. takes years... let alone 1mb.

if the map is worth the dl people will dl it just look FM vamps map there 2 mega bites!

Once it gets into the popular area, people will download 4meg maps. But then again, it has to be good for it to be popular.

If it's multiplayer, I'd try to cut it down a bit. Single player maps are usually big (mine are all at least 3 mb).

did u put some imported music in?
if so, u may want to remove some of them, cuz music files takes a crapload of space

but i think that it is worth it if it is so big (doesnt really takes too long, only a few minutes, maybe 5-10)

btw...make sure that u put "the file size of the map is big" in the description, or ppl will think that the host is slow and leave (making them unable to play the map, so they wont know how good it is)

in my opinion, big maps(file size) are fun to play (cept the ones that have imported music)

1mb for me takes 3 minutes for me to DL, i got 56k. On bnet.... eh maybe 10mins. But im thinking it wouldnt take terribly long for cable like 1min? But the loading screen in what is makin my map huge. I can easily take it out if i want and reduce it to 300 kb.

1 Mb can be a long time for 56kers, cause it sometimes decides to dl at like 1 kbps and ur sitting waiting going do do do *twiddle thumbs* but i think 1 mb is alright, a rpg i played all the maps were 3 mb and there were like 8 but that was ok i didnt mind the wait (was on 56k at the time) cause the maps were good, but damn dont wanna put any thing on b.net over 500kb cause its just soooo slow!

I remember great maps being 5 MB or so. If your map is good the people will play it.
