this is a near complete version of my 5 player rpg The Quest For The Demon Mask, this is my first rpg and is designed for bnet play so has no cinematics and is not a full blown story rpg but a search for a mighty item that will allow the owner to rule the world, there are many cool features such as preset battles, player boats, custom items and a cool twist at the end, i would like some good map makers to have a look and offer any advice as this is my first rpg. any help would be nice thanks in advance ismokeweed here is an updated version of my beta map this version is harder and has more enemies it has been well recieved on bnet so give it a try |

This map, although it may be interesting later on, it is so borng and uninteresting early on to ever get there. Ok First thing, there is no value in having pre - chosen heroes unless each character has a personality and interract. If you don't do that, always allow players to choose. Second thing, its expected you at least give heroes custom spells so there is something early on thats interesting at all. Third thing, why does every person know you. Oh thank your for saving us. The Mask of whatever is to the north east. Do they just say this to everyone coming by or something? You could justify it by saying several groups of heroes have traveled also seeking the item. Fourth thing, what is the point of this map? The story is next to zilch, the units are set up in little creep groups, which never come back, and arent even named. Why did you spend the time to make this map if your not going to at least give it an interesting purpose. Fifth thing - Make sure that if a player isn't there, that the rest of the heroes change teams to one of the remaining heroes, thus gold is not dissapearing into nonexistant players for no reason. The items I saw were pretty neat, though you got to watch how fast you get rings and robes of arch magi. |

thanks for your input but its not ment to be that complicated its ment for simple lag free bnet gaming in a similar vien to 3dguys old DnD map, not a full story blown map but a fun quest for 5 friends to take on with giant monsters and kill stuff it was not intended for players that want a harcore rpg nerd game |

you said why does everyone know you and about the villager if you read the text the warror asks the villager where the warlock can be found thats why they tell you. the point of the map is a quest for an item it tells you clearly at the start and the whole quest involves the search for the warlock, i dont even think you played it i bet you just opened it in the world editor also i didnt give heros custom spells because the standard spells are good, i like blizzards spells |

You have absolutely nothing fun in it, nothing at all unique. Theres nothing special, in fact instead of a nerd rpg. You spent way to much time as a nerd making a game which has no fun to it. Why are you wasting your time making it, if you don't even care to make it at all fun. The whole point is it makes no sense for a villager to know your quest is to find this mask. I didn't realize before that you were just wasting your time by making a useless map to fill with all the other useless maps that fill the folders of players and are never played again. I won't even ask how possibly its like dnd. |

the villager does not know your quest you idiot the warrior aks him where to find the warlock he tells them thats it, like i said you didnt even play the map i can tell, everyone els that has play tested it said it was fun but you are just some sad fat little virgin that sits at home on his computer slagging off the world on the internet because you have no real friends get a life |

Sorry but this Thread is getting really childish. First Alexian: Why provokating him like this? I mean your first post was OK it showed him that you don´t like the map and had points why you don´t like it. Now ismokeweed: Please, he just told his opinion, the fact that the map has only been downloaded twice should show you that people aren´t looking for more maps of this Genre. (or just didn´t like the description /name) Accept it, play your map if u have fun but don´t insult other ppl because of their opinions. |

Hmmm... I do not think cursing will bring any help. I think all ismokeweed was trying to do is to bring friendly comment to your attention. If you need any type of help, Post the exact things that you need, And be nice. |

LOL, ismokeweed, you're funny. But maybe you should lay off the weed? I didn't play your map, but I can concur with Alexian. I have plenty of multi-player RPG maps in my Downloads folder that promised to be "uber 1337" yet were never played again ;_; |

the only reason that i was abusive is because of they way he worded his comments, they were not that helpful and quite far off the mark and he clearly had not played the map through at all so i dont think his comments were fair or of any use and i stand by my opinon of that sexually challenged little nerd, as about 30 people have tried this map on bnet and enjoyed it alot and his comments are just his oppinion not fact. |
