lemme see if i have this right? you wanna have a custom unit that looks like demon hunter's metamorphosis form? create the custom unit, based off whatever you want, change the "Art - Icon - Game Interface", "Art - Icon - Score Screen", and "Art - Model file" to the "Demon Hunter, Demon Hunter [Demon Form] ..." option. this gives you a character that looks like this form, and since you can change the "Text - Name" and "Text - Editor Suffix" to whatever you want, he gets a custom name as well. hope this helps. |

It's nothing to do with editor suffix, that just tags a extra bit of text on the name which is only seen in the editor, "Arthas (Frostmourne)" for example. I think this problem has always existed in ROC, I don't know if there's a way around it. |

Its easily possible, just bugger around with unit animations. Either use triggers to attach the animation, or edit it in the object editor, I think its under recquired animation names. What deffinantly works is using this trigger: Action-play unit animation Set the animation to Stand Alternate, and the unit to your hero. |

Use the demon hunter model and tell the unit to use demon form, with triggers(with the help of a handy dandy spell editor you can make demon form last if not forever 3 actual days and have a trigger to tell him to reuse the spell, the same editor can move the spell to any slot on the command card to make room for another ultimate, you also need to ask about batch files around the moding community which means you require an MPQ editor. If you have TFT (the frozen throne) then you can modify the spell to last permanently just like the druid of the claw spell and not need anything else, (you can TFT get where you bought Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos). Don't want anyone to see or here the transformation of the demon hunter? A: make the unit belong to neutral in the corner of the map, tell it to transform then create a region in which a lot of special effects are created to make it look cool because then you are going to use "trigger/move unit" to move this bad boy to that location. good special effects are blink, charm, flame strike (not so good), or if you don't have TFT expansion pack then use something like reincarnation, or just fade in fade out black to hide the ugly transference. It depends for whether it is to be used in a campaign or a custom game map. Hope that answers your question! |

Actually you can use Metamorphasis (Illidan) and it's permanent, Just as Illidan transforms into a demon permanently in the ROC campaign, you can use his metamorphasis to transform any unit permanently, even after they are dead. Having TFT helps, spell edit to get rid of the stat bonuses, or just edit it away by old skool editting methods :P |

If you insert "Alternateex" into the "Art - Required Animation Names" field in the unit editor, it will play the model with the demon form animations instead of the normal animations. The model has both the normal and transformed forms, and by forcing the model to use the transformed forms (by adding what I said), you will have him always in Demon form. If you compare the Animations required field for the transformed and untransformed DH, you'll see this for yourself. |

the demon hunter metamorph form is NOT a model. It is an mdx file for the demon hunter mdl. If you want to use it, do like what the people have said above and take a reg demon hunter force him to either use illidans metamorph or tell him to do his alternate stand animation (which is when the demon form mdx becomes visible). Also, for the fire on their hands, there should be a line in the object unit editor that has additional animations, which i will find for you later. These animations can be told to connect to certain parts of a units body (overhead like inner fire, chest, etc.) I believe I also saw a line for footprint animations (like illidans burning footprints) which I can also look for. |

Well, I double-checked, and the way I mentioned earlier is quite definitely functional. Please observe the attached image. If you make the fields of your demon hunter or Illidan-demon-thang models read like this, you will instead have the righteous black glowing demon model. |
