It could work. I mean DK, u did it for the cinematic contest. Personally i would prefer to do the terrain myself and come up with terrain ideas myself. To some new cinematic makers, having good, pre-made terrain can be very helpful. Instead of struggling to make good terrain they can concentrate on improving their cinematic skills. Also by working with good terrain they can pick up some of the terraining techniques and apply them later. I dont think i would be a good terrainer now if it wasnt for the contest and getting work with DK's terrain. Besides if no1 chooses your terrain then you might be able to create terrain for cinematic projects. O btw, you can prolly attatch most of the terrain maps here. I think this isnt a bad idea.:D -Zurg |

That wasn't very polite of you, DK.... He deserves as much attention as your contest, and shouldn't be let down. If I heard correctly, it isn't a contest, but based on the rules of the DK Cinematic Contest. So, basically, someone makes the terrain, puts it on a website, and lets other people download it for their own use for cinematics? It would be very nice, considering that the downloader can also edit the terrain a bit. |

Sorry if it sounded rude (I was in a bad mood anyway, which is really rare), but the idea is that you cant really make pre-made terrain for "personal" cinematics. I'd personally never use something that's already a "whole" (Like the island I did for the contest) unless it's for something like that contest hosted earlier (It was the theme actually). Do whatever you want, but I doubt it will work. Or just use it for yourself otherwise. Got any samples of your terrains anyway? This could help judging how good you are. |

How can you even shape your storyline around premade terrain. Why bother hasslnig with that when you can make your own terrain and love it for what it is. |

HOW DO I SET MY MAPS OUT?????????????????????? |
| 07-22-2003, 06:26 PM | #11 |
1. try attaching them here ... or 2. go to www.geocities.com and apply for webspace ... free ... this will give you enough space to create a web page or just upload the files there and post the links here ... if more help needed ask again... really busy this time to give more details... |

What must I write in the attach when I set it into the reply? |

That is a painfully BASIC forum question, one that can get you eaten alive around here. You click the browse button and find your maps (one at a time, or in a zip) and double click the file. Then, you post. It's as simple as RUNNING the files. -Insaniteus- |
