Trolloc Wars mod, need voice actors and others

A bunch of posts about the original form of this project (campaigns based off Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time Series) were accidentally repeat-posted to this board and pissed a few people off by the team leader. I apologize in advance if reposting now is against the rules/ettiquette.

However, the project has changed. Now, we're actually writing our own campaigns based on the (vague) characters and events described with regard to the Trolloc wars.

For those of you familiar (and even those who aren't) with the Wheel of Time series, we're going to create a mod based off several wars with the shadow that is mentioned in the Wheel of Time series's history. The Trolloc wars took place between 1000 AB (after breaking) and approximately 1300 AB.

The mod will start with a prologue campaign (covering the massing of the trolloc armies and the fall of Barsine, which was a borderlander city that fell immediately after the Trolloc Wars began) and 4 full-sized campaigns (the full-sized campaigns will start in 1150AB and go to the Battle of Maighande, at the end of the wars.) For those of you familiar with the series, this period of time covers the fall of manetheren, two of the sacking attempts of the white tower (although the books are very vague around these... anyway, there's going to be the one successful sacking attempt and one of the unsuccessful ones...), the trollocs being slaughtered inside Shadar Logoth, the period of time when Rashima Kerenmosa (known as the Soldier Amyrlin) was amyrlin seat, the reign of Kirukan (a legendary heroine of Kandor's history, she was a queen during the trolloc wars), and also one of the periods of time in which Gaidal Cain and Birgitte were alive. In short, some pretty fantastic stuff.

There will be four fully-modded "races" (The Shadow, Manetheren, Borderlanders, and the White Tower), and the Shadow is, we believe, 70% planned out. A tentative storyline is finished, although the details are being laid down as we go.

We are not going to simply have modded units with new models. We're recruiting voice actors for main characters in cinematics and the stuff that units say when you click on them or direct them to do something (as well as the amusing things they say when you click on them too much, but that's not as important...)

Here are the following people we need. If you're interested in any of these, send email to [email protected] (me) and/or [email protected] (team leader)

First off, we need anyone with a decent voice at all and a microphone hooked up to their computer to give us their email for the possibility of being a voice actor. Once again, we have lots and lots of characters and units that need voices. Unsure if you're good enough? Drop us a line anyway! We need all sorts of voices. Young. Old. Deep. High-pitched. Male. Female. (ESPECIALLY FEMALE! It's hard to find females who will do voice acting for a warcraft campaign/mod, as you can probably imagine. If you're even REMOTELY interested, drop us a line. Chances are, you're the only female who'll email us, so you'll be REALLY useful, even if you're totally devoid of talent.) So come on and email us!

One of the other things we need is a modeler or two. It is not enough that you know HOW to model, you definitely need to be talented at it, too. This is because (especially in the case of The Shadow), there will be a lot of difficult modeling to be done. We'll need SEVERAL different types of trollocs (half-men, half-animals, but different sorts of animals, depending on the type of trolloc...), draghkar (sort of like a monstrous human with bat wings), myrddraal (some of the more formidable shadowspawn, they look like men, except with disgusting, pasty white skin, no eyes, and armor that is so black, it reflects absolutely no light. They also have swords made of darkness), and giant worms ('nuff said), as well as custom building models. Anyway, lots of stuff is the point. If you're talented and like a challenge, I expect that you'll appreciate this one. Reading the books is always a plus, of course, but we could always find you a picture of what we're talking about. Which brings me to my next bit:

Don't have any particular talents in modeling, skinning, map building, voice acting, or triggering, but like to draw? Are you actually good at it? Got a scanner or something? Then why not do concept art for us? Concept art makes me happy, especially when it tells our modelers/skinners what they're doing.

By the way, we have one skinner already, but it could easily turn out that we need more. If you're interested, drop us a line...

Lastly, we need a (TALENTED) map-designer. Once again, we have one of these already (team leader), but since we're probably going to end up with 35-45 maps all in all, another good map-designer or two could speed things up. We have two triggerers (myself and team leader) already, so we don't really need those BADLY, but if you're obsessed with this project now and have no other talents, why not drop in? Couldn't hurt.

Umm... oh, also. On the off chance that someone with musical/sound fx talents is reading this (although these people are rare), your talents are longed for. Custom music/sound fx would definitely liven things up! Drop us a line.

And... if you have any questions... drop us a line! *grins* Thanks. Buhbye.

*facepalms* Apparently that post that everyone was talking about deleting is still up on the board and is more or less updated with what I've written here. Feel free to delete this threat, moderators....
