The below link is from Targash(a wc3c mod). It is for model editing, found it in map develop tools section. http://www.quake3world.com/ubb/Forum11/HTML/001100.html What I'm wondering is which Tool should I use? all I need is a tool that let you remove 'weapon' from an existing model in war3x. A short tut on how to remove the 'weapon' would be helpful, but not necessary. If the tool is not in the above link.. plz point me to the approaite link.. Thx |

Well, if you just wanted to remove a weapon, you could 'alpha' it out. Check out the skinning forum. There's many links and resources on how to do it. |

Of course when the unit attacks, it will still attack like it had the weapon, which would be odd. |

Even if you remove the weapon from the model, it will look like the unit attacking with the weapon. That is, unless you change the animation. |

It wont be odd when I replace it with a custom weapon, complements of Razorclaw X. As of now, if I create that custom weapon on a hero, the hero will have his old weapon and the custom weapon. Now that looks odd!! thx for the concern though!! @Alpha[druid] even though I dunno what 'alpha' it out means, I will gladly check out the skinning forum... Ive went to slk/object edit forum and war3 tool forum to look for how to skin... didnt relize there was a skinning forum... silly me =( |

It's Allanon[Druid], not Alpha[Druid] :D . Getting carried away on the subject are we? If you alpha an area, you are just making the skin transparent there. That way you can alpha out a weapon. If you don't find your answer in the skinning forum, you can post here. I can help you. |
