My First Decent Skin

Here's the first skin I've done for a map I'm werkin' on. It's takin' forever so I don't know when it'll be out. Anyway this is the Null Mage; 1 of 4 specialized Assassins. This one's specialty is takin' out enemy spellcasters (obviously). And all the Assassins adorn their armour with the bones of their victims. There's still a little work to be done, like removing the hero glow and either removing the 3 circling balls or turning them black.

So, let me know what you think! I'm willing to change it a bit depending on criticism. 8)



The hair and skin are just a recolor and the chains are CnP from the Lich(with a little work) The rest is all original.

Good. It could have some black parts brighters to break the monothony of the skin. Some more detailing on the chains would be cool also. Nice skin after all.

Thanks. Yeah, the overtoned black was bothering me too, but there won't be any Cinematics so I'm trying to keep it simple. Plus there's going to be tons of custom skins and models and only the 4 assassins will be all black like this, so I dunno if there's anything I can do to really fix that black, aside from adding more colors, which I don't want to do. I could try and shade it more but without the player really being able to look that closely at it in game I don't think there's much point.

The chains do look a bit blurred... I think I'll just redo them entirely without the c'n'p, that should do it. :D

is that the blood mage model? i think that is really good use of the model. i like the face. that assasin must suck. no stealth at all. the chains would make hella noise. just thought u might want to know that:D

This one doesn't need stealth, the whole point is that the 4 players that control each team HAVE to work together tactfully if tey wish to win. So yeah, this guys pretty screwed if like a bunch of grunts or something find him, but on the other hand he could prolly take out 9 or 10 spellcasters on his own. Hence 'Specialized'

To break the blackness just add some shading, like clothing folds etc. Just dodge the shadows to do this.

Well, its good enough to have me calling you a bastard for the rest of my life. and muttering "chains?! whod have guessed they would look awesome?! I KNOW ill skin the warden, and instead of her cloak she can have er..erm...chains!"

basically, too good. Give him lipstick, give a three year old the mouse and see what they do to it. just make it worse. its too good. stop it now!

Hey no offense because the skin looks good, but it reminded me of some gothic rockstar no wait......can't think of them....oh yeah like someone from kiss.

Wow, I'm glad so many ppl like it.
I've had a bunch of requests from people who want to use it in their maps, so I'll just get that out of the way here:

I am not currently releasing any of my skins to the public, or to other map developers, not yet anyway. When my first couple of maps are completed I may release a pack with all the skins in it, but I dunno for sure. Either way it won't be for some time as I'm not even close to being finished my first project.
I'll have a website up eventually with all the stuff on my maps for those of you who are curious.

thats an awsome skin i especially like ur use of the cape making it in to chains and the white face adds extra effect to the orginality
