Staff Changes...

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that Cookie, TucksMa, and mikititan has resigned from their posts as Site Administrators at WC3Campaigns. This has come about as a result of a conflict of interests among the administrative team members.

For a great deal of time, the administration here has been comprised of a dedicated staff that split their time between the site/forums, and with major projects and official WC3Campaigns projects. Over this time, a rift has gradually developed, as often does when a team is divided between very different tasks. Those who's time is devoted moreso to the site and technical issues, and those who have been devoted more towards our official projects continue to retain the same common goal for the site, but ultimately have grown to where we envision different methods of getting there.

As such, we are in the process of breaking down the administration to more specific tasks, allowing the focus of our team members to lie almost entirely in the scope of their previous dedication without the burden of the other portion.
The Site Administrators will continue their goals towards the development of new technologies for the site, forum policies, and the like.
The Project Administrators will continue to work on official projects and remain one of the best sources of assistance in your modification questions and needs.

These changes will not affect any of the ongoing projects, and if anything, will allow them to be completed in a more expedient fashion. These projects include Fury of Kadesh, Jaded Veil of Koten, and others, as well as forum enhancements, a new Content Management System (which Darky27 and Ganon are now assisting in the development of), with a new Download Center and easily searchable and commentable tutorials and FAQs, as well as other features.

This is no way marks the end of an era, but rather, a renewed dedication in the community and what the staff of WC3Campaigns is able to offer that community. We will soon give more details as to these new site features as well, and anyone who wishes to assist us with the bulk of new content we will be building in the weeks ahead.

As an added note, those Site Administrators who have resigned from their posts have been asked to stay on as Project Administrators, and all of them expressed no indication of leaving the site, the community, or the projects in which they are involved.

I agree...dividing up a large squad into smaller, more managable groups does in fact create less friction between members as the tasks that each person is to undertake are drawn out and there typically aren't many of them. In a way...it reminds me of the checks and balances system that the United States employs.

I feel that via this "rift" in the administration...the site might have some minor difficulties for a little bit, but once the initial heat has gone down, the site will begin to run circles around its former glory. It is indeed sad to see a team separate...but it is indeed for the best. In my opinion...good call by those in charge. Kudos!

I hope that this "new era" will really improve things. Currently the download section is very bad. Many important tools are missing.

About the tutorials and FAQs I can only say that I do the best to main information in the Editing Tools Forum (where I am Moderator). Other than that we need rules that force people to look at these FAQs. Most of the simple questions are covered by tutorials and FAQs. Instead of reading them, people tend to ask these "stupid questions". The most annoying thing is if they open a thread with a stupid question and then post that they have solved it at their own instead of deleting the post. I tend to delete such useless posts.
The only other improvement I'd like to see is what weaadar and I posted in the following thread in the Staff Forum: http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/s...threadid=20710

Although I am not good with War3 Editing and modding, I know all the basics, and i can help keep the site i norder while keeping contact between projects and staff and users. So I can offer to be a replacement admin. Trust, even though i act like a total buffoon, I can take my responsibilities and do them.

Guys, this isn't a thread about applying for a staff position, especially administrative position.

But, we may need help with developing content in the weeks to come for the rest of you to enjoy.

Ppl applying for admin in this thread. Heh, face it; only FMVH people and Ganon Realm people will ever stand a chance since it look like they rub everything around here nowadays.

And Cookie and Tucksma were some of my favs! :nono:

Well, it was their decisions. Most of them are still gonna be around, but just not as admins.

And no, im sorry to everyone that believes that i made them leave, but it wasnt me. I cant force them to leave, since it wouldnt even be my decision to make.
