getting AIs to test maps

in AOM i edited a few files and could get the AIs to fight each other while i observed there actions to check for problems in My maps.
could someone tell me if this is possible in warcraft 3, and maybe give me a link to the information on this or tell me what must be done.
I have only recently bought warcraft 3 and the add on frozen throne. and would like to understand the file structure better. :bgrun:

Is your map a melee map? In that case you can set up a fight between AIs in the AI editor. In the Test AI tab just use the standard AI.
You can also use the LAN play feature to set yourself as an observer and some AIs as players.
For a better AI for melee maps try out AMAI.
