In an attempt to make it easier for our moderators and staff to keep the forums clean, we have just installed a new Warnings System into the forums. This allows our Super Moderators and Administrators to issue warnings for certain forum policy offenses, such as Spamming, Flaming, and Trolling. Each offense for which a problem user recieves a warning will earn them a particular amount of points against them. These points expire over the course of a particular number of days, that time length based upon the offense. You can view a list of the current offenses within the system here, or by clicking the link on the forums page labeled [View Warnings]. Once a user accumulates a certain number of points, the system will automatically ban them. Users will recieve a PM and/or Email upon each offense, which will provide a link to the offensive post, and give the user the opportunity to contest that warning. Not to worry, though, this will not affect most of you, but is has been implemented as way to better assist us in keeping the forums clean and the community healthy, and try and give you a more pleasant user experience here. |

This is for example what I would regard as spam. Just posts like "Cool", "Nice" or whatever similiar to that. The system is good, but why do only Super Moderators and Admins have the possibility of adding "points" to a user. In my opinion Moderators should also have the ability to do that. Your definition of spam is also not very accurate. You covered only one aspect of spamming. The term spam also covers posts that contain useless information of any kind, regardless of the post length and anything that is completely off-topic. Another thing that should be added is the "punishment" (in points) for advertising of stuff, that is not appreciated (I think "advertising" for WC3 mods is not bad, but correct me if I'm wrong). |

That's great Drax. But I have a question: will the warned user receive any kind of advice that they were warned? Some people won't notice his warning level just looking at the bottom of the post. |

g*damn u and ur anti-warez ... u sound like america vs terrorism. dont mean to be harsh but to tell a n00b every now and then what program to get from kazaa or whatever doesnt mean some1 is going to close down the forum... i hate it when i tell peeps to get this or that program because it is better, and dont tell me u guys arent using any warez. i bet ur windows is even warez! :P enough about that, except from this minor thing the system is ok |

I thinkt hat 8 point sis a bit too much for saying that you can find it on a filesharing program. I think that should give 2 warnigns or so. But if you actually post links 8 pionts is fair. I think that this is a good system, but I just thought that 8 points is a little too much for a minor offence like that one. |

Hey can you guys reliev me of my level3 warning. I got it because I posted on a old thread but I didn't know it was old. I seriously thought it was something recent but I don't bother to look at the dates of the posts. But when I posted I posted right on the topic and it wasn't off at all. So pleese reliev me of this. I already asked the person who warned me but hes not on right now. [Edit: Why don't you warn the person first then give them a warning number if they do it again.] [Edit#2: My sig isn't too big is it? If so tell me.] |

Ah.... cant warn admins. Anyway, this is a pretty useful feature. I already used it once on an oversized sig, but that was when it had 3 levels. |

Electromancer is my sig considered oversized? |

Nope, its fine. Not ment as spam, just a reply to ssgoku |

Good idea, this will keep spam and flame numbers lower than ever!:ggani: |

Goku, if the system warned first and then started accumulating numbers on additional offenses, it would serve absolutely no purpose. I noticed one offensive post, that Skull flagged, was for spamming... And Electro... why would the system allow you to give a warning to an admin? |

we can still curse right? so i can just say godamn or **** instead of f*ck etc... unless its **** you against some1 else. not sure if i like this system... spammers etc never bothered me at all. and yes, change the warez thingy to 2 points unless u use links or something. EDIT: i see we cant use the word f.u.c.k ... what a shame ![]() |

Hey this isn't ment to spam or anything but how did my warning level get up to 7? It wasn't at that before. Oh and DraX your right about the warning system thing. [Edit:Never mind DraX told me] |

Well, I must admit that this is a needed feature for a place as large with so many n00bs. It may piss off a few people, but it's soo needed right now. I must say, Stoned/the rest of the admins, I am liking what you've all been doing lately. |

Goku, the system isnt perfect. Many ppl will get "false" warnings for nothing. But thats just part of the learning process for ppl. |
