While making my custom map, including custom abilities, I found my heroes are unable to learn more than 5 skills! I tried looking in the game Constants, but found nothing there... How do I change this? :( Any ideas? |

As I think people have discovered, the 5 hero type ability is hardcoded to 5 skills and there is nothing we can do about that. However, you can play tricks with 2 normal abilities as a next/previous page that actual replaces the unit with a identical unit with more skills. |

I see... Damn, that sucks. How about the special WorldEdit versions that're made here? I heard some people are making modifications. Any word on that? :/ |

hardcoded Stuff can't be fixed by mods |

You can only have 5 hero skills, it's hardcoded in to the game. Even with mods, the game just ignores the extra skills and only displays 5 skills, and there's no way to change that. We'll j ust have to deal with the 5 skill limit. |

If ur a trigger expert, you can add a 6. skill and lvl it with upgrades. But as there are only 6 free slots, and I dont know how to remove command buttons, it's not THAT great :( |

call me crazy but would the 'spell book' item turned into a hero ability let you have a ton of extra spells? Almot more than 5? |

yes but you cant level those |

actually with clever use of variables you could... |

Hmmm... IF hero goes up a level THEN replace item (level 1) with item (level 2). Idea? |

the way I see it you would have to have a certain amount of premade spell book spells that had every variation of the spells a hero could learn in them. Like rain of poo lvl 1 with ninja sheep strike lvl 2 and monkey nugget licker lvl 2, or rain o poo lvl 3, ninja sheep lvl 1, and nugget licker lvl 1.... etc. You would hold the lvls of each spell with integer variables, and use a bunch of differnet if/then/elses (IF rain of pooLVL = 1 AND ninja sheep strikeLVL = 2 AND monkey nugget lickerLVL = 2, THEN assign spell book, blah...) to assign the right book with the right level of spells to the hero when they learn the one they want. This is all in theory ofcourse and I'm sure there's an easier JASS way to do it (There always is :P) but it sounds like that should work to me... The only bastard part would be ingame every time the person wanted to cast a spell they'd haveta open up the book... I'm sure there's ways around that too if you're smart enough, like forcing UI keys n such. |

what if something was done like the build button, except for spells? |
