Would you play this type of map?

There are 8 players. (4 in each corner, 4 on each side). Each player starts out with a hero ghost that can call down nuclear missiles (if you build a nuke at your silo) and can lockdown units, 4 marines, 2 firebats, 2 medics, 2 scvs and a few buildings (such as command center, nuke silo, missile turrets...)

Each player recieves 5 gold per 2 seconds and players get money for killing enemy units. You lose when your command center and nuclear silo are destroyed.

The nukes have a really cool effect and the firebat and medic will have custom skins.

So, would you play a map like this. Or, what would you want different.

Yea, it sounds like fun.

It sounds like just playing the really nasty and intense parts of late-game Terrans in StarCraft.

I think the lesser units would be totally overshadowed by the Ghost, though, who, being able to cloak and nuke the crap out of them, would make them sorta unimportant.

What models do you intend to use for the SCV's?

Your Command Centers should have a way to use the "Satellite Whatever" ability that the non-nuke Command Center expansion provided in StarCraft.
Or, your players would need to have some other way to detect Ghosts.

I'm glad your map isn't something like "One player has a 1337 Ghost and everyone else has to dodge the nukes" because that'd be pretty boring and a lot like the sheep- and kodo-tag clones I've been seeing lately.

Starcraft was a great game. Really fun. But warcraft is a different game. Do something original. Even though I know that using all the models and art would take TONS of work, and be cool, it's still Starcraft.

comsat scan? it already has that. Plus the other units dont really overshadow the ghost since they are basically what you need to kill the ghost while it is sitting there for 25 seconds targeting the nuke. I'm using the goblin shreader for the scv.

Yeah, it sounds fun. Brings back memories of those starcraft days. ;)

People have based games off of other games, no big deal with starcraft. =P

It's almost more original than the Aos/maul games. hehe

But anyways. Yoda_24, you got some great skins for starcraft. So go for it! ¥^_^¥

Sounds like a lot of work for one map. Models wouldnt take up much, but the skins are a different story >.<

i already did the 2 skins for the map a while ago (3 hours each though) and the map only took 1 day to make (about 6 hours for the map) Now my world of warcraft map on the other hand is a lot of work for "just one map". I started it when tft came out and have been working on it between 2-8 hours per day for most of the days.

Well, the question is how well the map plays and how well you carry it out:). If the gameplay is good and you open a fair amount of strategies, I'll sure replay it:>

I'd definatly try it. Add some more futures and it can turn really cool.
