giving customs spells to units... HOW?

I can for the life of me give any units custom spells made in my ability editor... they just arn't on the list of abilities...

Also i made two abilities and edited a few (i thought mabye i could replace the old ones eg: i changed the real storm bolt. but it didn't work) Tested the map, nothing worked, (hit the computer), I then opened the ability editor and Voila (said in a propre accent coz i can speak french)! all my abilities were gone!

that's wierd. it should not do that. the closest i've gotten to that is i edited in campaign editor rather than in the map, and i couldn't access custom abilities. check if thats the case. if not then i have no other ideas

make sure that you set the line Hero ability = false. I mean to uncheck that box..

Also, WE likes to put the newly created spell at the very bottom of the skill list... but sometimes it will be alpha order..

Lastly, when you edit a spell, make sure you change the name of spell, otherwise you'll dunoo which is orginal and which is edited.

well i was editing hero abilities anyway... it's just that the ability i made didn't appear in the list "hero abilities" or whatever it's called in the -unit i made to have the spell's- stats... thats the only problem really...

Make sure it says :

Hero Spell - On
Check Dependencies - On
Race - Whichever

Fill out all tooltips required.

sry... i was using the campaign editor/custom file/ability editor rather than object editor/ability editor... sry about that... i feel real dumb
