Hey, im a newbie, and am still learning the editor but I have decided to start on an semi-open RPG project based on 'The Elder Scrolls' series, but making it multiplayer. I am trying to make this an open RPG, but heavily enforce partying among the players so that they don't travel on there own just spawn camping. Features : -Micro intensive, with low cool down, low cost skills, and tough enemies, you MUST micro your characters skills to win a battle. This is to prevent leaving your character to spawn camp and just hack his way around. -Enforced partying, gaining bonus' such as EXP, loot, defence, will come in handy with the new tougher enemies. -Since your 'skills' will be used for microing ALL spells for magic classes will be placed in books, which you choose the path of magic you follow and gain new books accordingly. -Spell Book system, where you learn a spells and they are placed in your spell books so you can use them, rather than lvling them through your characters levels. His level skill points will go into skills for the micro battles rather than the spells. -Since this is based on The Elder Scrolls you will be able to choose most of the races and classes in the Morrowind game, as well as become a werewolf and vampire like in Blood Moon. That's all I really have for now. The current progress on the map is pretty low still, I have some of the terrain done and mapped out most of the skills techs and classes on paper. I am hoping to make this map VERY customized with all new spell effects, or modified old ones to make them a lot better. I will post screenshots and whatnot later. Tell me what you think. :) |

To make the terrain as realistic as possible I decided to use little cliffs, and bump map everything. I am pleased with the results, and here are some screenshots. <<removed old screenshot>> |

And another one. The map is doodad intensive. Hopefully I dont run out of doodads. ^_^ <<removed old screenshot>> |

The first pic is good. The second one, though, has some problems. The edge of the map is a bad place to put villages, it looks unnatural when theres a sky there. The hill to the north looks like its a wall, make some more variations in the height and put some rock doodads there. Fill up your map with doodads, thats what makes them so life like. |

i post this in all of the threads such as this: The screenshots look good but you should really take them via the regular game camera (crtl-shift-c) since that is the way the player will be looking at them. |

Here you go. The same village from in-game. *Note : None of these units are in-game, they were just used to take the screenshots. |

very nice work i can't wait to see what you bring up next, you mentioned it was multi player but the examples you showed looked like several different maps are you going to try linking maps or will you make one large one incorporating all your stuff? |

Can you link maps multiplayer? If you can than that would make things much more versatile. :) All of the screenshots are one the same map. If you look on the minimap in the last 2 screenshots you have a general idea of what the 2 main islands look like. So yes, I am trying to incorporate everything into one map. There isnt much terrain done but I am working hard on each area in detail so it looks good, and will be fun to explore. :) |
