Working on NEW MULTI-PLAYER RPG! Need Help :)

Well, my other post got kind of cluttered so I thought I'd tidy it up and combine it all in one post. I will explain the basics of my RPG and hopefully I can find some people who like the idea as much as me and would be willing to help me complete it.

STORY

The old world is now in ruins... The once dormant demons have arisen again and has reign terror across the lands. The hidden power sources of the 4 great races: Dark Elves, Dwarves, High Elves and Pandaren people have been stolen by 4 powerful demons. These once forgotten powers are now in the hands of these demons who've ransacked their homelands and demolished nearly all life within them.

The mysterious gloomy lands of the Dark Elves is now under the control of one of the demon lords who possesses their anceint power of FIRE

The once beuatiful and lush lands of the High Elves has now be reduceds to a watery grave by the hands of the demon lord who obtained the power of WATER

Deep in the icy mountain ranges of the Dwarves the demon lord of EARTH has enslaved the once proud Dwarven race.

In the once peacful lands of the Pandaren the demon lord of WIND has devastated the lands and claimed the anceint power for himself.

Now, all of these ancient races flee to the lands of the Humans. Together they have a common goal. To restore the power back to the world and defeat the demon overlord that resides in the deepest regions of the world.


That's the basic story line atm. It is definately up for improvement. I haven't come up with names and such but I have friends who can help me with that

CLASSES

Dark Elves
  • Assassin stealth hero with inhibitating and unqie shadow abilities
  • Deceiver stealth hero with deadly poison and deceiving abilities
  • Druid well-rounded caster with basic healing, buff and offensive spells
Dwarves
  • Warrior heavy tank that can absorb massive ammounts of damage
High Elves
  • Enchantress crowd control caster with useful buffs for allies
  • Magician summoning caster, summons elemental pets and powerful items for allies
  • Ranger stealth hero with the invaluable ability, detection
Humans
  • Barbarian heavy tank that dishes out massive damage
  • Channeler powerful caster with elemental abilities
  • Cleric unmatched healing caster with buffs
  • Necromancer poison and stealing lifeforce caster
  • Paladin hybrid tank and cleric
  • Warrior heavy defensive tank, nearly indestructable, however lacking in damage output
Pandaren
  • Bard support hero with great group buffs
Trolls
  • Oracle mysterious spirit caster
  • Shaman well-rounded caster with decent healing, buffs and unique offensive spells
  • Shadowknight hybrid tank and necromancer
  • Warrior heavy offensive tank, unmatched in raw melee damage
May perhaps take all trolls out

I have all the abilities on paper. Working on the art currently.

GAMEPLAY FEATURES
  • Difficult and intense battles Not like usual RPGs that are all over b.net, my RPG will feature challenging battles that will require team work and intensive micro managing to overcome all battles.
  • Crafting Using the correct recipeits and ingrediants you obtain from monsters from the world you can forge unique items.
  • Mini-Games Remember from FF7, the Golden Saturn I believe it was called. Well I want to add a place like this in my RPG. Where you do something aside from the RPG and just have fun while earning special items.
  • Agents of the Demons Much like bounty hunters, these will be player controlled mercenaries of the demons that try to hinder the heroes in anyway they can. They will be slightly stronger than the heroes, but not too powerful to easily overcome them.
  • Epic Quests This RPG will incorporate special quests unqiue to the classes. Each class will have a Epic Weapon and Epic Armor set. Upon completing these quests the hero will undergo an armor and weapon change through custom skins.
  • Evolution Through a certain quest towards the middle of the RPG there will be a transformation of the heroes where they gain more power. They become more mature looking, but gaining great strength. This too will come with a custom skin for each class.
  • End-Game Monsters Towards the last leg of the RPG once all the heros have neared their maximum level and abilities there will be special end game monsters, which will not be required to kill, but will obtain great rewards.
  • Castle Siege/Defense Somewhere along the story the heroes will be faced with immense fortresses. They must use sieging equipment to aid them to penetrate the defenses and infiltrate the fortresses. On top of that there will be a quest that involves Castle Defense. Imagine this being a typical RTS where you set up defenses in preperations for a massive invasion
  • 12 Abilities per Hero Using the switch "spell-book" technique I'll be capable of allowing my heroes to have 12 abilities.
  • Grand Master Abilities Aside from maxing out abilities I hope to add special quests to earn extra abilities points beyond your normal points and truly max each ability. When a skill has reached the maximum level they will be much more powerful with special effects. You can only reach grandmaster with these quests.
  • Player-Controlled Attribute Distribution Allows player to
    distribute their attirbute points they receive per lvl.
  • Further Character Advancement After reaching the final level cap you will still gain exp, however this exp will be pooled into a different bar. You can use the exp you gain from the new bar into using new abilities which the player activates using text commands or there will be stat or passive skills to invest in as well.
  • Limit Break/Overdrive This is something that would be really fun to add in my RPG. Although it's stealing the idea from FF, it's a really fun feature to add to a WC3 RPG, if its possible...
That's the basics of my RPG so far. More ideas on the way I'm sure. I'm still in the beginning stages of my RPG so none of this is set in stone. I still need some people who'd be willing to give me some help with this project. I'm sure this could turn into something very amazing with the right people.

I'd like to help if I could. I would say that I am very good with triggers, though certainly not one of the best, and I don't know nuthin about JASS. I can also help with ideas especially for new heroes, skills, and items.

Oh no not another Elements RPG. Can't you think of something more than your stove, a bathtub, muddy lawn, and blow dryer? You have good character classes, but you do realize how much time it will take to make 4 spells for each one. The majority of my RPG was hero balancing and I only had 9 heros! You have 22 of them. Thats......**calculator** 88 spells! Please, change your storyline to something not so overdone...

Well, it's not exactly like an Elements RPG. I know my RPG is by no means original, but it's what i have to work with atm.

Eh... crap... No I didn'tt. And what's even funnier is that I'm going to have 12 abilities per hero. So that's 264. In light of this... I'm going to be deleting some characters.

My rpg will also feature a "Limit Break" type feature, that is all im saying now, but I'll show you a screenshot of what my "Power Up" effect will look like when the character reaches the limit break. This might give you some ideas.

Custom skins plus how many abilities? Better try and keep file size under 600 kb.

Those are some of the things I 'hope' for. Ill only get custom skins if I find a skinner. And I gotta tone down on the abilities I'm sure.

I just PMed kumi about a good idea for abilities. Unfortunatly I'm too lazy to type all that again. Maybe Kumi will tell you about it, if he likes the idea that is. It's pretty good way to do the skills though.

...im a skinner... but im busy and i'm leaving in a few hours and i'll be back friday. Though i could skin something for you. If I want to that is.

My rpg has 12 races and so far has 6 classes. (though not every race has a hero for each class. Like only 6 races have hunters, 3 races have mages. 3 have warlocks...)

Ehhh, sorry but it kinda looks like you copied my 'spell book' and 'micro intensive battles'. Sorry if these were common ideas, but... ya. :\

Well I invisioned the idea from RPGs I've played before for instance, EverQuest or Dark Age of Camelot. In these games you had to work as a team to overcome most battles. Like, having a warrior tank, healer heal and crowd control and having a spell caster for dmg support. So my inspiration for the long hard battles came from games like that.

And the spell book idea has been brought up to me many times by many different people. If you were the first one to come up with it I'm sorry for taking that idea.

LoL, you can't even have 12 abilities per hero. The max I think it like 6, botton row + 2 above it. I respect your admittance of unorginal, and the crowd might enjoy it more, but you have to understand I always encourage orginality.
