Is there a shareware version, or do I have to buy it?
I'd really like to know cause I think it would be helpful in editing some sounds.

EDIT: Also, I don't want this thread closed, so please don't post about Warez ways to get it. I already know I can get it that way, but I first want to try to obtain it legally.

There is not a freeware version if that is what you mean, I think there is a shareware trial though. But it will run out and you will eventually have to buy it.

Ah... yep I got results when I searching for Soundforge Trial Version on google. Unfortunately their site is down right now, but I'll download the trail version later. Thanks. :D

CE pro?
I know it has some nice things, but what really dampens the spirit is it doesnt allow mp3 saves, or a system with both it and cooledit 2K. Wich means you gotta do it an other way, and that just sucks. :( I use CE 2K.

I dunno why, but somehow I always think the latest version is generally better.

Plus it has a sweet new logo!

Oh and are you saying it can't save mp3 files? cuz the version I have definitely can...heh

You can use a program supplied by windows to make sound. It's free and easy and there's no need to download!

The program is located in programs>accesories>entertainment>Sound Recorder

That may be true, but it is nothing compared to programs designed to do recordings. The sound recorder is.. well crap.

Lol, I only use sound recorder to cut/paste pieces of sounds.

I use Goldwave, and Audacity, but sometimes I can't do quite what I'm trying to do with those programs. (In this case, I was trying to make a drum sound much much deeper, I suceeded in making it fairly good using Audacity.)

I only use Cooledit 2K, but the idea to making things sound a lot deeper is to layer some reverbs over it, though make sure you use NONE echoey, it is always a good idea to go with a 100% wet and a 100% dry signal. But that is just how I like them. :)
