I am just starting out on using the WE. I am using the one you get with the game, nothing else. OKay bear with me, I guess you all started there once :)

1. I am just starting out learning the various triggers and there is one thing I cannot do. I am trying to get mannoroth execute his "spell" animation, as it is called in the WE. I use the trigger "animation - play unit animation". it looks likle this: Play Mannoroths 0000 <gen>'s spell animation.
Nothing happens. I tried to swith to attack, death, decay, dissipate and various stand animations (all that are named above the animation window on the left side when the unit palette is on)
only the "stand" animation makes manny move when I test-run the map, all other animations just makes him stand utterly still.

Blizzard have done exactly the same thing in their deatsheep map, and it works there. Why not for me?

2. I have created a simple effect of a mass teleport being used (just the spell) using "use specail efect on point". The name was something along the line of "Ablilities\Spells\Human\massteeport\massteleporttarget.???
Can someone explain these things to me. what they are and how to use them as I want. (did this by copying the same effect from the warchasers map).

1. Hmm that's strange actually, it should work just fine, have you tried any other units?

2. The 'Ablilities\Spells\Human\massteeport\massteleportta
rget.mdx' is the path for the model to be used for the special effect, in this case mass teleport. I got an old map here that shows you all the old spell effects and the path to them and also a list that contains all the paths to the models, it should help ya.

Instead of that, you can use this program called W3Map Utilities, and click on the Special Effects tab; in the drop-down window there is a list of all the special effects (e.g. spell animations) units, doodads, etc. (It helped me out a lot in the old WE because you couldn't make units look like doodads so easily.) If you need the file PM me.

You're using the WE that comes with TFT, right?

If you have both the main window and the Object editor open next to each other, and you go to edit the spell value field, as you scroll through the animations, it will show them in the model previewer on the left side of the main window.

I've found this inordinately useful, and it will help you find your teleport model and select it from within the WE.
