Not sure which forum this belongs in cause I didn't actually edit any SLKs just some of the game files. Anyway pic is attached. Firstly I promise this is NOT a manipulated picture. Ok I edited some of the files and managed to get four additional races to appear in the race select dialog, when you move the cursor over the names they are higlighted in yellow but nothing happens if you click on them but this is a good start right? |

I should point out the four new races are from my mod Forsaken Destiny. And I didn't know anyone had got to this stage before. |

I edited UI\FrameDef\Glue\PlayerSlot.fdf UI\FrameDef\GlobalStrings.fdf Scripts\Blizzard.j Scripts\Common.j but this won't help much as it's still very much in the works and I can't easily explain what I did as it's still in the experimentation stage and there are several things in some of the files to edit so I can't easily tell you anything I'm afraid. |

Thanks for the Suggestion ;) ... I will try to trace it . BTW , if you look at UnitMetaData.slk , you will see a lacking SLK is Profile.SLK ( I don't know where is it and how to extract it ) but we can create a new Profile.SLK with field exactly in UnitMetaData.SLK . Seems it's a primary key too. |

Is the "Demon" race the Burning Legion? And what are Dragon Elves and Divine Phalanx? Are some units from those races already available in the game ressources? I'm willing to complete the Naga race so anyone interested plz contact me at [email protected] |

*sigh* This is a screenshot from my mod, the Demons are the Legion but toned down to be playable, the Divine Phalanx and the Dragon Elves are new races in my mod and the Naga are also a race in my mod. |

I wonder how to get the race chosen properly reconized. Did adding the constants & modding the existing functions in blizzard.j not work then ? Also, did you add the melee starting units triggers ? It all sounds quite interesting. Keep the investigation going on. dreamweaver : You didn't get it. Profile.SLK does not exist, and is not used by the game. The "Profile" value for the data file used field actually means all the txt files linked to the type of objects you're editing (Units, Doodads, Abilities, Items, etc...) exemple : Units\HumanAbilityFunc.txt is a profile file. You know what files we need to modify to make menus?(i mainly want to modify existing menu towards Wc3 Alpha style,like abilities not in same tab as movement commands). Btw dont ya need DemonUnitFunc.txt & Triggers for starting units and the triggers to recognize the main building as townhall?.Im Intrested in these race adding and menu editing mainly because i would wanna add Blood Elves(Former High Elves)as race & The Legion(balanced), Naga. What progman you opened the files with,i get errors with fdf file when try open with acrobat. Ya need add new script file with file format of pld,i.e DemonMelee.pld and specify starting units. I use Wordpad, it can handle larger text files better. And I'm aware I'm going to need to add a lot of stuff but it will be worth it in the end :D |
