Unable to have Siphon Mana and Life Steal on same hero?

For some reason I cannot have Siphon Mana and Life Steal on the same hero.

When you learn 1 its fine. But when you learn the other, it does not even show up. Its like they overlap or something.

Any ideas?

Dude, same button positions. Just change the positions in the TFTWE spell editor

They aren't the same button positions.
Siphon Mana is X(2) Y(2)
and Life Drain is X(0) Y(2)

I think it's because they are based off the same ability.

Allanon[Druid]'s correct. They're based off of the same ability, like Blizzard and Rain of Fire. Units can't successfully have two abilities with the same root.

Sorry, it kinda sucks, I know.

actually, just for the record, so people don't get confused, Blizz and Rain of Fire have always had different order strings.

Yeah, but you can't have both spells on the same hero anyway.

I read somewhere that it was the order string that counts, but it can't be since you can change the order strings of spell in TFT.

Try to replicate Siphon Mana or Life drain.

Yea...it pretty much can't be done, I copied heal twice and made 2 custom spells, I changed everything about them that the standard WE lets me (button pos, art, cooldown, heal amt, orders, ect) except the stuff that was unused and they still overlap. Both of them had everything set to different values from eachother too. One interesting thing is if you have one on autocast they'll split up when you turn it on provided you have different button positions. They'll only re-combine when you turn autocast off. (so give a guy 2 versions of heal and rightclick on the visible one, the other will move to where you told it to be)

One more nice 'lil bit of information...changing the order strings in the WE doesn't work, I changed all of them to different things and checked in-game what order they were given and it was always the default order. It's possible that the problem lies in the orderstring...

Nope. The orderstring is mysteriously unrelated to the problem.

I wouldn't be so quick to make statements like that panto; life drain and mana drain both have the same order string in game (unit issued order targetting unit, print issued order) There's a good chance that this *is* the problem, just need to figure out where they are set and change them and see what happens.

However I now realize that the problem is something else. They all have the same code, AHdr. This code probably specifies what in-game code to run on using the ability and changing it could be hazardous to the proper functioning of the ability. (by all I meant lifedrain and manadrain)

Previous experiments have shown that abilities that don't share an order string but do share a root ability frame will not work together.

However, if you find a workaround, that would be great news! Keep us posted.

Changing AHdr to something else kills the ability, looks like it can't be done
