Im Having Trouble with importing

I downloaded that BetaPackV1.0 with the old beta icons and stuff... I decided to try to import them using the import manager in the world editor... it all imports fine.. but for some reason, the picture doesn't show up... like for example, one of the footmen wars maps has the same icon that they imported into their map... when I import mine, I can't see it... Is there anything I'm doing wrong? I even tried to change the path name to start with: ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\ and it still doesn't do anything

I'm a complete newb when it comes to importing skins, buttons, textures and all that stuff... So can someone please explain this to me in detail? I'm sure most of you are very familar with this stuff since you guys do it all the time....

-Thanx in advance

It should work, but did you change the footmen icon to the imported one?

Does it work in-game? There's a glitch which sometimes causes imported icons to not show up in the world editor.

Two things.

Firstly, your method looks sound, but I know for a fact that the icons which Cookie included in his beta pack are corrupt and thus do not work properly no matter what you do.

Secondly, since he didn't include the disabled "DIS" buttons, whenever the ability became disabled, it would screw up as well.

What icon(s) do you want? I have the beta .mpq's, and if I've got oodles of time I can root a few specific ones out for you.

Actually, he did include the "DIS" buttons... I figured out how to get the normal buttons to work... but problem is... I don't know how to get the "DIS" buttons to work.... Can you please help me with this?

Sure.

If your button is named BTNbutton.blp and is in the path ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\, then the corresponding disabled button should be named DISBTNbutton.blp and be in the ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled\ path.

Thanx... it all works fine now for buttons.... Would mind telling me the path for animations or models? I have no idea how that works... I tried to import this undead skin.. and I tried: units/undead but it doesn't show up... it just shows the original skin...

I believe Cookie set it up so that the models are in a separate directory from the models that they were replaced by in retail TFT.

Place them in directories in your Warcraft III\ folder that correspond to where they are found in the archive file.
