Hello everyone. I'm a new member and I just finished the first map of my campaign. I would love some opinions about it. If you can tell me any suggestions/advices about it or any bugs you might find, I'd be grateful Here's what the map includes : 5 Main Quests, 2 Optional Quests. 9 Cinematics. 1 New hero type with 3 custom skills. Scoreboard to see how well you're doing. Many secrets. And I have some questions if anyone can help. 1. Is there any way to make a hero learn a custom skill through a trigger? The only choices that exist are the predefined ones and a function one (and not a very useful one at that) 2. Has anyone met any problems with variable difficulty levels? I've made variable difficulty levels and they don't work when you choose one at the beggining of the campaign but they work after you lose (when you have a choice to reduce difficulty) 3. Anyone know why custom skills, when the map is part of a campaign, seem to have like all the abilities of all the skills together? 4. Is there any way to create two leaderboards that don't mess each other up? (I resorted to using the quest menu in the end) 5. Can anyone make me a Grunt skin? :ggani: ---------- Updates ---------- 02. I've changed the way the second quest requirements trigger. I didn't have any problems with it but apparently others who played the map on their pcs had. If anyone could test it out and tell me if it works now I'd be grateful. |

Hmmm... About the first question. You can't do that (As far as I know), but you can change the excisting (I am pretty sure I just spelled that wrong :P) spell . The second... I have no idea with this one. I am no real hero with Triggers and I got no idea about variables :( The Third... I don't understand what you mean. The fourth... I wish I knew...:P Sorry, I don't even know how to make a leaderboard. (Well make it working is what I mean) The Fifth A Grunt skin? Unless it needs to be changed can't you just use the Grunt Model? (BTW, sorry I can't skin) Thanks to read my useless chatter :P Dark Dragon |

1. How can you change the predefined ones? 3.When I put a map into a campaign, the custom hero skills I've made get the ability variables of all the skills that exist together . It reallly messes thing up. 5.Nah, I just need someone to make me an orc custom skin so that I can use it for my hero (he's a grunt model) Anyway, after I uploaded the campaign I found a couple of nasty bugs and I squashed them. check it out |

1) there are actually many more ways to do skills than just custom abilities. i'd need to know what u had in mind. pm me. as far as everything else, i'm not sure. sorry. I checked out your map. good points - plot is pretty interesting. quests are a challenge, but not impossible. bad points - i only got to second quest. i picked up the lion's thing first, the ancient figurine 2nd and the maul of strength third. however, it didn't recognize i had found item a until i found item b. therefore when i got the last item, it thought i had only picked up 2 items. |

It's not really an issure right now, I've found a way around it. I just wanted to know. Quote:
Thanks, wait till you see the rest of them :) Quote:
Really? Strange, I've playetested it dozens of times and I've never encountered problems there. I tried picking them in the same order you did and I didn't encounter any problems. Try again in a different order if you'd like. PS : I just discovered that I can update the files too from the edit function. I've updated the map and deleted the extra file :) |

Yes. Through Custom Text (make a trigger with preset ability, then convert trigger to custom text, then put in your ability). Quote:
This is a tricky one. You have to set the difficulty at the very beginning of the mission, otherwise it won't work as it should. I'll give you detailed information about this one later, when I'll have more time. Quote:
It seems to be an error in Campaign Editor. Open a map in campaign (any map). As soon as a map is open, everything works fine. Quote:
Yes, but you'll have to carefully balance both of them. This information too will I explain when more time will be available. Quote:
I could, but I don't have time to do it... |

Well, I was thinking of a grunt wearing an iron bracer on his right hand, and maybe a chainmail shirt. |
