Hello. I'm hoping someone can help me. I am looking to make my own tiles for WarCraft III. I have the Frozen Throne expansion, if that helps. Here are my problems: 1 - Some of the tiles I want to edit don't seem to be anywhere in the lists of files I can extract from (i.e., Sunken Ruins, Underground, Icecrown Glacier, Dalaran Ruins, etc.) 2 - I don't know how to go about the process of making the new ones; I know it's got some similarity to making skins, but that's about all I know and I can only find one or two tutorials and all of the information is very out of date and there are only broken images accompanying it. 3 - I want to be able to use as many different tiles as possible. I know this has something to do with Zepir's editor, but I haven't even tried it yet since I don't know what I'm doing anyway. I thought there was something else, but I can't remember right now. Anyway, if anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you very much. |

Ok, i know alot about tilesets so ill try answer some of your questions; 1. For the Sunken Ruins tilesets u need to open up the 'War3x.mpq' using Image Extractor II (I know, old program but its the besti n my oppinion) Ruins, Icecrown and those tilesets are in the folder: TerrainArt\ 2. To make new ones the best way is to extract an existing one, turn it into a .tga file using Image Extractor or KDE Wolf's tool, open it up in Adobe Photoshop or Jacs Paint Shop Pro and edit to your hearts content. 3. Yea you can use Zepir's editor to add up to 16 tiles i think, i havent used it much so i cant help you there. Heres a map im workin on using an old tileset i made, Im currently in the process of making a new one but this is for showing purposes ![]() |

Thank you so very much. That was exactly what I needed. I had actually been using Image Extractor II to look for the missing tilesets, under "TerrainArt" where they could not be found and I also looked under every other category which seemed likely, to no avail. I had been looking at what the program had presented me with, which I have taken a picture of to show you. It hadn't crossed my mind to load an .mpq into it. That made all of the difference, but you knew that. That was the main obstacle I couldn't get around. Thank you very much. |
