Need Help!... I got stuck with UVW Mapping / Unwrapping :-/

TBonez!
I've modelled my first structure for my Warcraft III MOD, and all went well upto the part of UVW Mapping:



I'm stuck for sure... tried some of the tutorials on this board and on the web, but couldn't find some (new) clues on how to get it working...

Could somebody please help me with this...

I'm using 3DSMax 4.0, and took the following steps:

modifier list > UVW Map, Mapping: Box, Alignment: Z, Fix
material editor > Blinn Basic Parameters > Diffuse > add texture
modifier list > Unwrap UVW...

all I'm ending up with doing this is the following:

ya know, i couldnt figure out how to do, the unwraping in 3dsm 4 or 4.2, then i got 5 and it was simple. I sugguest getting 5, and follow the tuts on this forum, you should find it really easy then :D

other than that, sorry i cant really help with 4 cos i havent got it anymore, and i never got it to work me sen so :bgrun:

What might work is if you got rid of the box UVW map, then put on a cylinder map, no cap, and then set it on the correct axis and do fit.

Now that that is done, download textporter, http://www.cuneytozdas.com/software/ from there, then after following the instructions to have it installed click on the hammer tab, press more and choose textporter.

Now in the menu thing that has appeared under the list choose what size you want the map to be and press the pick button, I think it is pick object or something, and click on your tower.

It should have a nice map for you to use in skinning.
