Getting rid of Chain Lightning effect

I'm trying to make a spell based off chain lightning that doesn't use a lightning effect, but I can't seem to get rid of the lightning when I cast the spell.

I want to make it so that a glaive shoots from my hero and bounces between the targets, but what happens is that lightning shoots from my hero and bounces, and a glaive spins inside each target.

ya, unfortunately because of the way most lightning spells work you can't change their art with the spell editor.

the actuall art of the spell is a .blp, not an mdl file... You can modifiy it if you extract and open up lightningdata.slk from the mpq, but aside from that, no there's nothing else you can really do.

Cool thing about this though is you can make your own custom spell effcts if you're a decent enough artist. Just modify the actual .blp file. (You have to extract that and implant it when you're done) You can even set the R G B values to make the lightning whatever color you want.

Remember that you also need to impllant this file into your map when you're doen, and change the path to Splats\Lightningdata.slk. If you changed any of the lightning .blps the path for them should be ReplaceableTextures\Weather\Whatever.blp. Also you have to make sure that if you name the .blp to a custom file name, you have to make the right field in the .slk reflect that.

hope that wasn't too complicated, heh.

...enjoy.
