I'm willing to get into slk editing but I have a problem...I actally don't know where the slk filez are :ggani: anyone wud be so kind to tell me?

I'm trying to make this easy for you. Just post what you're trying to do that you think you need slk editing for.

Well I want to complete the Naga race and make it available in the WE and playable in any single player skirmish map :)

Obviously I'd need help from some people cuz I can't do 3D Models, Sounds and Icons :(

In order to get into the .slk's and the .txt's, get WinMPQ. Once the program's running, go to the "open" button. Choose an .mpq file or a map or whatever. In the .mpq files, the .slk's are listed under Units\Raceabilityfunc.slk, or whatever. The RACE is changed to either Human, Orc, Undead, Night Elf, Naga, Neutral, or Item. Hope that helps.

I agree with Draco a little. The TFT WE lets you edit all the things you normally wanted to in slk files. I believe that editing the slks won't show up in the new WE (Never tried it since TFT came out.)

1) you need slk editing for changing the art of spells where the art is not specified. More than half the abilities in the WE do not have specified art.

2) you need slk editing when you want more than one spell based off neutral abilities like Permanent Immolation, Command Aura and Scroll of Regen. These abilities lose their data fields when you make custom versions of them.

3) if you've never tried before, please dont post saying what you think will be the case, because it almost never is.
