While I still plan on finishing it, I've decided to see if anyone would actually want to play it. I'm recreating the Yugioh card game. The deck choices will be limited to Yugi and Seto to start with future plans to include Joey and Pegasus. I've found this to be a lot of work so far, but I've learn a lot about triggers which hopefully will help me in the future. Once this is complete, my next project will probably require a lot more work, but will hopefully be worth it also. I hope to make another card game style map that will be loosely based on the Yugioh card game. My plan is to created custom decks for the map, but also allow people to send in request for their own decks. I would post the list of cards+affects on a website along with the rules of the game and the rules of deck creation. Then someone could email me and let me know what they want in their deck. The deck would then be setup so only a certain user name could use it. This would be a longer project and something I plan to do in the future, but I want to finish my yugioh card game first as I find out how to handle all the things I would like to do in my next custom game. Anyways, once I'm done, the beta would be posted here, but I would like some thoughts on it before hand. |

Don't recreate the Yugioh game! Recreate the Magic the Gathering game. :D It's just the better game. But it's up to you of course. |

I am a Yu-Gi-Oh card player, but let me give you a summary: It's impossible... There are so many ****ing cards you have to apply. Traps and magic cards are damn hard to create. Everything from tribute monsters to fusions are hella hard. I don't recommend making this game. You're going to take forever to get all the rules applied. |

Oh, no, actually, it isn't that hard. Remember, I'm only doing certain decks and only certain style. I'm using the decks from the ps2 version of the game, but using the regular board style. I wont argue that there is a lot you have to account for when doing it, but so far I'm doing fairly well. I'm almost done with both decks and recreating the card affects. Trap cards and handling the graveyard are my next steps. Well, once I finish, hopefully you'll test it out Mech, since you play the game. I've played a bit of the original card game, but I mostly played the ps2 version. Hopefully you'll be a bit surprised by how it turns out, but then, we shall see. Plus, nothing is impossible. :) |

heh... i guess it is possible, i dont know the cards but i tried to make a online computer version of it (since mtg proved to be too hard) but it was still very hard.. so i stopped... |

Heh...I wont lie and say it isn't hard, and considering I'm not making ever card that ever existed in the yugioh game, that helps a ton. Of course, I may have to cut corners a little, but I think I will get it close enough to make most people who know the game happy. I mean, The WE can only do so much, and I'm still learning a lot about what can be done. It's just a matter of time. Anyways, I'm a little over half way done, I've gotten most of the magic cards done and all the monsters are done. Anyways, hopefully someone will like it. If not, oh well, I've learned a lot from making it and it's been fun so far. |

Actually Fusion Isnt that hard I think (if its like X + Y = Z, then just modify the Mount Hippogryph Power)... Ive never played the game but once, and that was with my cousin. I dont like Yu-Gi-Oj |

Actually this project would be as hard as you think. You could have attack points be say strength, defence as agility and everytime a unit attacks another unit u make a trigger checking the variables and seeing which is higher and getting rid of the weaker unit. Since he is only using the Seto and Yugi starters there cards are very primitive and shouldn't be that complicated. I am a fan of Yugioh and would be glad to help you with this map if needed. :) |

You're close, Jiiwan. I'm using Hp for attack and Mana for defense. And it uses the ps2 seto and yugi deck, which aren't to complicated. Fusion is fairly easy. Blue eyes ultimate for example only requires 3 blue-eyes to be in play, and there is a check that checks to see if they are in play and then removes them and summons the ultimate. That one is fairly easy. The other two are in yugi's deck and are fairly simple also. Trap cards I think will be the hardest, because I have to allow the other player to "interrupt" an action that the first player is doing, but I think I've figured a way to handle this also. I hopefully handled it fairly well. I've set up a way to have a card face down and not visible to the opponent(though they can still attack it), and of course, a way to keep your hand hidden from your opponent. I'll certainly let you know if you can help, Jiiwan. Most of all, when I'm done, I'll need beta testers. Mainly because I can't host on b.net, no matter what I do and everything I've been testing is on one computer with triggers to help simulate the second player. :) |

Actually, if anyone is good with models. I could use a three headed dragon. :) |

Well if you cant find a modeler, you could use the hydra from the suken ruins creeps :) |

Yugioh is just a wannabe version of Magic: The Gathering. Do the right thing, recreate the original. |

*rofl* Well, each their own. I actually hate MTG now. I played it a long time ago for about 2 years. Back when 4th edition first came out. It sucks now. :) I wouldn't know where to start or what are the current cards nor any of the new rules. Plus, I'd have to create my own custom decks. Sorry, that's to much work to try and recreate something I don't like. Besides, like I said, hopefully people will play and like this, but if they don't, it's great experience for me when I make my next map. And the Hydra is an interesting idea...Was hoping for a more dragon like model, but perhaps that will do. :) |
