Argh! Ok, I did the introduction to skinning tutorial... and followed it to the letter (with the exception of editing the alpha maps) but when i put in the model file, this is what i get (you have to download the pic) I read somewhere that this is an error with the alpha maps. but if i didnt edit the alpha maps at all, what went wrong? this has me really stumped! so if someone could tell me what i'm doing wrong.. i would be extremely happy oh and another thing, in game and in WE he has no arms, weapon or head, and for some reason you can see either the top or bottom of his teeth, and they just float there. (just incase you cant tell from the picture.) |

What version of Photoshop or Paintshop do u use ? i tried the same thing with my 2 first skins. I later found out it was because my version of the program was 2 old (Verion 4.0) it was not compatible with Alpha-channels, so it deleted them. u need version 6.0 and above i think. (this is incase u use Photo- or Paint-shop) |

I use Photoshop 7 (with the targa plugin) and/or Paint Shop Pro 7. |

I'm using photoshop 7.0.1 and slowpoke, i had already tried your alpha channel repair guide before posting this. so i'm stuck.. and i really want to do some kewl skins :( well i'm going to try downloading the targa plugin and trying that... i'll report back emote_confused well i downloaded the targa plugin. and its still not working. BLAH!!!!!! OH SHIZZLE!!! I GOT IT WORKING! WOOOO ok, for some reason, when save the edited skin in photoshop using the save as... then it doesnt save the alpha layer. but if i just hit the save button, it saves the alpha layer. oh man this is so sweeeet :P |
