I'm making one of them thar demon campaigns, I've got the first bits written out but I need to decide where to take it...basicly, it is just post TFT, and kil'jaeden is not happy...he sends his most powerful general, Zul'Ganis, through a portal to azeroth (and in the massive energy required to send him he is reduced to level one), and...well, I need an overall objective. I do know the first mission or two... first mission: May or may not exist...basicly you control a lv 10 Zulganis taking out some demonic insurgents. a basic intro to some demon units. Second Mission: near Icecrown. He emerges from the portal, and must escape the scourge forces so he can recover his strength. However, the way out is guarded by alarge undead stronghold....but a familiar voice beckons him to an old cave. Third mission: He fights through underground catacombs, and breaks the seal on one of the Forgotten Ones. It offers him his aid, because they have a common enemy in the Scourge...and as proof of his goodwill, introduces the voice that led him here...his brother, Mal'ganis. the FO saved the last of his fading life force and created a new body for him within the sealed catacombs. The wards had kept him from exercising his will outside, but not from drawing power in, and Mal'G told him of the events that had been transpiring, and then arthas slew one of the FO's kin.... Fourth Mission: Exiting the catacombs, the demonic brothers must establish a base and ward off Kael's blood elves. common enemies do NOT always make allies. |

Few thoughts on objectives: 1) Do you want to stay on Northrend? If you do, revenge against Lich King Arthas would be an obvious goal. You've also set up a Forgotten Ones hook. It'd be cool to follow that through; maybe Kil'Jaeden is desperate enough he's willing to attempt to ally with the Cthulhu-like being that lives beneath the Maelstrom, and the Forgotten Ones are the key to that. You could have a large part of the campaign take place underground, weaving your way through caverns connecting Northrend to the bottom of the sea, thousands of miles off the coast. 2) Want a "big" goal, or a stepping stone? the Legion has lost control of the Scourge. There are now two distinct factions: The first, of course, is Lich King Arthas, sitting on his Frozen Throne up there on Icecrown. The second, though, is Sylvanas over in the Plaguelands in Lorderaron. The campaign could be centered around your demon's attempts to re-subjugate this second errant faction, and perhaps delve into southern Lorderaron and Khaz Modan (where the Ironforge dwarves are still strong) for some attempt to open a second permanent gateway. ..only thoughts I have for now. Dum dee dum. |
