how do you make it so the map checks for a specific number of units in a region and the map knows when all destructables have been removed?

Ummm.

Event - A unit dies
Condition - Number of Units (owned by player 1) in (playable map area) equal to 0
Action - Blah

Event - A doodad is destroyed
Condition - Number of doodads in playable map area equal to 0
Action Blah

I dont know why you would want this in your map unless its a minigame. If theres not alot of doodads to be destroyed then make them all units with doodad models.

No, It doesnt HAVE to be a destructible. You can do it perfectly well with units w/ doodad models.

If you assign the destructables to variables, then at least you can tell when they each die...

u could always go

bAlive == false
pick every dodad in playable map
+if picked doodad == alive then
++set bAlive
if bAlive == true then
+do stuff
