yes, but nowadays linking smaller maps is better to do. First, you need a WorldEditData.txt from your wc3.mpq. Then you need to open it, change the default, and maximum values to what you want (480x480 is max. and blight doesn't work correctly). Save the file and place it in folders in your wc3 directory to match where you got it in the MPQ.

Problem is I can't have a bunch of smaller linked maps...
The theme of my maps is multiplayer... and because for some inconcievable reason. Blizzard thought it would be a great idea to disable those nice little game cache triggers for multiplayer use...

*big thumbs up*

Thing is this map is gonna be 4 players vs the computer in a HUGE level, atleast I want it to be huge... and the theme of this level 256x256 isn't really enough. As I want the vastness of a countryside to be portrayed...

You said Blight doesn't work properly if I make it 480x480? What happens with blight? is it a big issue? and whats the max size I can make it without it affecting blight?

Dude, a single player 480x480 map of mine with about 13,000 doodads lags up on my brand new comp. I'm trying to tell you it will be unplayable on bnet or anywhere prolly. Stick to the smaller, better sized maps. Multiplayer should never really go over 192x192 and 5000 doodads.
