1) The battle paths have to be symmetrical (as in mirroring the paths close to perfect) 2) heroes must not surpass in everything, nor should a hero be totally useless (but is unavoidable if noone ever likes a certain hero anyway) 3) The towers of each side must have the exact same stats (health, dmg etc.) Thats all I can think of now, anyone else have other things that involve mediocre to major balance needs? I would appreciate any feedback Thanks! |

dont forget the troops that spawn. Cant have 1 side able to overpower the other, without the aid of heroes, 1 side should never be able to dominate the other. |

Yep, that's pretty much all the AoS elements, except for the obvious like no imbalanced hero skills, uber heroes, Blinking advantages, same, balanced items... Like in Tides of Blood, the Sorceress's Ultimate = GG for most. |

Well, theres more to balance than just equality. Maybe the towers on one side have longer range, less damage and the others have shorter range, more damage. Or faster attack, less damage, more eye sight, magical damage, seige damage, ect ect. If you really want to add more variety, then you should think of other ways of balancing instead of equality. Although wc2 was such a great game because of equality (ecxcept bloodlust) wc3 was even better because of variety in strategy. |
