how would you make a trigger that when Unit A dies, unit B gets created at a region. then when an ally of unit A enters the region the unit B gets replaced by a unit A for the original player? |

This is very easy to do, I suggest you open many premade maps and learn first hand. Anyways, Event -Unit Dies Action -Create Unit in at Coor. Event -Unit Enter Region Action -Unit Replace unit with unit. P.S. Calm down dont freak out everyone is a newb at one point. |

This is getting pretty pathetic, however. I suggest that anyone that plans on starting to make a map opens the trigger editor and just LOOKS through the lists of events, conditions, and actions. They're all catagorized and most have a mini-discription when you select them. Next, make a stupid pointless map using the triggers that you're curious about. Then, we wouldn't have so many of these questions. |

the thing is its not that simple, only the certain units should get replaced, not all of them in that region. |

That's waht conditions are for. Unit Comparrisons for specific units or unit types, and Player Comaparrisons for allies, enemies, or certain players. |

Draco I do agree with you, but the best way to learn is to play around with the triggers and varibles. Open old maps and learn how they work, TRY it. The only way you get better at anything is through pratice. I dont mean to be rude or anything. I think the people here are far too hard on newbies anyways (I know they post the samw questions 1000000000 times). Anyways trust me most people are going to flame you so I would read the forums before posting, ect. |

yeah no prob just watch what you say, you dont want to ask a simple question or a question that has been ask 1000000 times, some people just forget that everyone was one a noobie. Me i live in Canada so I am pretty easy-going. |

ok, ive been doing pretty much the same trigger every1's been giving me but for some reason it still wont work. unit dies unit type of matching unit is unit A unit- create 1 unit B at center of region 1 facing............. |
| 08-09-2003, 05:55 AM | #14 |
Ok this is all going to be off the top of my head so if the event, conditions, actions are not exactly the same sry. EVENT: UNIT "X" DIES CONDTION UNIT-TYPE(DYING UNIT) is EQUAL to (UNIT-TYPE of "X") ACTION: UNIT CREATE (UNIT) in (REGION) facing (360) DEGREES and if that dont work well... then we will takl further. |
