Genre: Could loosely be described as a ____ war, but its so much more than that, the different game play modes and spawn options mean it is something much greater… On to explaining, once the game is started player red is given the option of selecting the victory conditions, then the type of units that are spawned. The choices are as follows: Spawns -Tier 1 Melee, Tier 1 Ranged, Tier 3 Melee, Workers, Siege Engines Victory Conditions -Spawner Destruction (normal footman war style, kill the town center) -Kill Limit (players set an amount of kills to be reached, when a team reaches the set -amount, they win) -Capture the Flag (each players hero has a flag, which drops upon hero death, when a player has the set amount, they win) -King of the Hill (When a teams hero is in the circle of power, a timer counts down, upon reaching 0 that team wins) Players can also change which race they are (this only determines heroes and some items that can be purchased, all the spawned units have equal stats). All of this is done with dialogs; none of the crappy select a hero from a farm, or build using a wisp stuff. Note this map also includes custom items and upgrades (no custom heroes, or ability upgrades for balance sake). Because I'm 56k, Ive only had a few games with full house (usually by leeching a friends cable). There where victory issues at one stage, but I'm almost positive they've been ironed out. To get your king of the hill counter working, you have to enter the circle, leave then re-enter to get it counting down. Another slight issue with the count downer is that it tends to be off by about 1-4 seconds eg you get defeated when there is 2 seconds on the clock left (note: the team that the timer belongs to see it fine). Still to come (if I can be bothered): -3 players per team version -A restart option -Small issue fixes Imo because of the different game play features etc this map is the greatest footman war clone (if it can still be called that, we've evolved it far beyond any normal footman war). I'm too much caught up in another project to do any more work on it, and due to spreading issues I doubt it will catch on. If someone wants an unprotected version or to help me to polish this off PM me. This map is very fun to play, don't judge it by its footman war beginnings. Please give any and all feedback! |

Sounds like an all in one. Good idea, since map creators are having a hard time find new maps noew-a-days they tend to add many maps together, and you are noticing it more and more on Bnet. |

Yea its pretty much an all in one, except many of the new options have never really been intergrated into this type of map. Certain combinations of victory and spawn options work better than others (worker+kill victory or tier 3 melee+ctf for example). Also these different modes mean its more than just a who can use AoE best, unlike normal footy wars. Hero choices actually matter eg things like stun and surround are better in capture the flag, healing is better in king of the hill and good old area of effect owns kill victory. Thanks 4 feedback :D |
