I like all that you listed as choices! WHY MUST YOU TAMPER WITH MY EMOTIONS?! (lol, but seriously a good AoS map should have all of the above.)

Im taking this poll to check some quick stats on what people want as a first priority

my AOS map so far has or will have at the end of the completed version 1.0 those 3 popular choices

balance and spells of course

and a new innovative idea, I think its a big change to AOS

but I suspected people would've picked balance alot, only 3 votes

An AoS with crappy terrain is boring,
An Aos with normal spell prove your a damn n00b(cause we now have a object editor...)
An Aos with no new items... whats a lame map... BUT NO ****ING TOMES!!!!11111|||#\\##
Balance, very important!

Going along with the balance issues...

Heroes
- They need to progress "evenly". By evenly I mean, 1 should not be overpowered a LOT. One thing would be like:
Say I was an archer, the stats that would go up should be my agility and some damage increase, not drastic. One thing I hate about ranged units is that most games I play, they have too high of damage, and too high of hp.:cuss:

- Another thing would be their custom spells. These must be balanced throughout all their levels. This takes so much time to get it right too, at least for me it does.:bangH:
- One last thing with the heroes. One thing that I would love to see in an AoS (I'm doing this with mine) is their speed. I mean come on, in DoTA, everyone was almost the same speed until someone bought speed boots (or whatever would increase movement speed). Some units, like rangers and stealth units, along with mounted units, just seem that they should be faster, you know?

Spawned Units
- Spawned units, in my opinion, should be varied. By varied I mean that there should be different units. (Ex. 2 Dif. Air units (1 sgt or general of the two "lower ranking ones") 3-5 ground units (same "ranking 'way' ") 3-5 ranged (ditto), and even throw in some seige later in the game) I'm doing that with mine. Certain teams develop certain new and improved units at certain times in the game. One of these is siege units. Since one side has very large armor on their buildings, they developed siege weapons. The other side counters these with their new and improved unit. (dont wanna give it all away:D)
- Many paths for these spawned units. I love playing in the maps with 4-6 paths. In my game, I'm having about 5-6 (still pending) because each path's terrain is differen't. One such not-so-new idea is adding 1 path for sea units (shallow water though so the players can still tag along).

Items
- Items deliver even more customizability (w00t 4 my made up wordz! :D lol) all the items definetely need to be balanced though; their "stock" time as well. I hated playing DoTa with someone who had 5 demon edges... :cuss: Although they didn't have much hp, they still could run right into my base and wip her out within a few runs! I'm not saying dont add items like the Demon Edge though, I'm just suggesting that they either: 1. have a greater stock delay or 2. They cost much greater or 3. Gold is much harder to come by. Speaking of gold, you only get 10 gold for killing a spawned units and 50 gold for killing a hero. (0 gold for buildings) But they can get gold by accomplishing quests. Some basic quests are: Killing 10 spawned units = 50 gold, killing 25 spawned units = 100 gold, killing 50 spawned units = 250 gold (x*5=gold earnings(x= kill amount))

Hero Selection
- This one may not seem large to most, but it is for me. For my game, I'm having them start as a "spirit or soul" (pending on what team they are) Then they go and "enter" the body of the hero they wish to become. I have it kinda set like this: 3 heroes of each attribute are "grouped closely" together (still postiioned on the terrain nicely :D). Then there are about 11 (still pending whether or not to make that 16) "solo" heroes on each side. These heroes are not clumped together and are more closely resemlbing the "race" or "capitol" they protect. One such hero is the Luthe Don Knight. (you get the picture ) To stop the other team from selecting those closer to the middle and crossing over the borders to the other team's "side" I placed triggers to "disabling" that from "occuring".

Well, that's just a little of my two cents (lol... blah blah blah, Blah blah blah blah. lol)

PS-Didn't realize it was that long emote_sweat Sorry about that:...:

Mech-Sheep
New Features and custom spells.

Balance is also important, but as much as everyone believes, no AoS can be balanced.

Also, many AoS have like 1 new feature. AoS's has to be waaaaay more than 1 new feature. I'll say, if I had the time, I can make a totally new AoS.

LOL! Nice one, it only took about 15 minutes to type :...::bangH::cuss:

But what Mech Sheep said about the AOS's only having 1 new thing, he's right. That's why I'm trying my best to make this totally differen't (even making a secret to it, on how to win, to fit my storyline as well as be fun(instead of the old fashioned kill your opponents base to win))

I don't think the average B.net player gives a damn about a storyline in an AoS map, no offense titan.
