This is a really funny thread.
Although Yobguls Warcraft III File Converter should work (at least in my opinion) work for everyone, there are lots of people who have problems with it.
To get an installer, which was created by me, go here:

I edited the first post, so that everyone who looks at the first page of this thread can download it.

Yeah that's very strange. I think that it doesn't work to most people just because they don't know how to set it up correctly.

Since my installer that should no longer be a problem. The installer runs a tool (programmed by me), that extracts the needed DLLs from war3.mpq (so that they are from version 1.0).

Oh that's good. I think that's the only issue in making it work (maye the VB DLLs too). So there's no way to say it didn't work...

This is a known bug on Windows XP. Nothing to worry about.

After using the installer, it finally runs, but whenever I try to open a file, it says, "Error - Unknown File Format"
Is there any way to fix this problem

I have used the installer, and I can turn mdx into mdl. :)

However it doesnt work the other way, ie. mdl into mdx. :/

I get this error:

."Access violation at address 6F027650 in module 'GAME.DLL'. Read of address 00000000."

I'm using Windows 2000

Quote:
well this is what happened to me i converted the mdx to mdl (text-based) i edited sum stuff blah blah then when i went to convert it back to mdx i got an error saying access violation blah blah game.dll

well the thing was when you convert for the first time the application puts 2 lines at the start of the mdl saying when it was converted blah blah .... well delete them first 2 lines then save it then try converting it and it should work then

Thanks, Z3n. :)
