there are probably already threads about this and i probably missed it in the tutorials but how do you use a skin once you make it? i have the viewer and psp and ps and i can extract the image and make it, but after that what do i do? i imported it with the tft worldeditor, but i can't use it because it's not a model... how do i make a unit use a skin?

You put it in the directory you got it from. EXAMPLE: If you skinned the grunt, but the blp at "Units\Orc\Grunt\Grunt.blp"

Sentry model is "Units\Creeps\Watcher\Watcher.mdx" and the skin is "Units\Creeps\Watcher\Watcher.blp"

What units did you skin? Did you do the USUAL steps meaning
1) extract the .blp
2)convert the .blp to .tga keeping it at 32 bits
3)edit the skin in Photoshop or Pain shop pro
4)convert the skin to .blp keeping it at 32 bits
5)replace the old skin with the new one

Do mean it has a shadow (not invisibilty) ? usually thats a sign of a model that doesnt work or an improperly specified model path file.

And Note Units use .blps not .tga

To see all textures used by the model you're currently previewing on W3V, just right click it in the treeview and select show all used textures or something like that. You'll find the skin files you're looking for.
