Strange WE Behavior

My World Editor's Object Editor just started acting weirdly... see the attached image to see what I mean. It put the 4-character code before the name of every object in the OE (abilities and doodads and such included), and put the raw data values for everything (Like the Human Knight Requirements list looks like "hlum, hcas, hbla" rather than "Lumber Mill, Castle, Blacksmith".

The computer I am using now does not have, and never has had, any serious modding stuff done on it. No custom world editors, no custom .slk's, etc. What I had been doing, however, was taking a look in some .mpq's, and messing with a map. Here's exactly what I had been doing:
  • Using MPQ2K in the command line to view War3x.mpq
  • Attempting to use MPQ2K extract files from War3x.mpq, but getting errors (trying to get Blizzard.j and Common.j)
  • Briefly using TechMPQ to do the above, with errors as well
  • Using WinMPQ 1.62 to view and successfully extract from War3x.mpq
  • Copying the files in a standard Blizzard melee map, tweaking war3map.j, and putting them back into a new .mpq, then attempting to play the map in War3X and open the map in WE... War3X wouldn't read, WE said it was corrupted
  • Doing something similar to the above, but this time saving a working map as a new file, and just editing and replacing the war3map.j for that one map, instead of making a new .w3x with WinMPQ. This worked fine, except that my edit produced no results
Anyway, I think I somehow got a string file messed up, or the connection to it broken, etc. I'm pretty sure I can fix it with a reinstall. The reason I post this: To find out why this happened when I didn't try to make it happen, so that inadvertent stuff like this can be avoided in the future, and also so that, if it's not something that's already been done, we can get modders the ability to set their WE's so that the 4-character strings display in the Object Editor. Makes for easy scripting when dealing with custom objects.

I apoligize for any newbishness on my part, whether in not already knowing the source of this, or in doing something stupid with the MPQ stuff. I stopped doing mod-related stuff about a year ago (got started in the RoC beta, never released anything), and am just now brushing up on things.

You just accidently clicked (or pressed the hotkey for) "Display as Raw Data". It should be listed under the View menu (IIRC) and the hotkey is Ctrl+D (IIRC)
