Centaur skin acting strange in my map:

First off: I don't know if this should be written here or in the skinning forum, so if it's wrong, please move it to the right place.

I have reskinned the Centaurs to a map of mine, since I need a Dragon Ogre (A unit from Warhammer looking like a Centaur but with a dragon lower body). The result looks good, and I have made it with the Centaur Impaler and the Centaur Khan skins. The Centaur Khan skin looks good in game, but in some way, the Centaur Impaler skin doesn't appear in game, I know it worked before, but somehow, it doesn't anylonger. Could anyone help me with this? I have the Centaur skin under textures (textures\centaur.blp). Is this the wrong path or what?

Well...if it has to do with skins, I would think you put it in the skinning forum. Just a wild guess.

The reason I put it here is since the problem is about implementing the skin into a map, and I know how to do it so its some sort of problem with the map.

Its no skin looking the way I want, I want a human (sort of) torso and upper body, with a dragoncoloured/skinned lowerbody, so I cant use any skin in the editor...

I can suggest a couple avenues for a possible solution.
Firstly, to find the location of where the skin should go, you can either open up the war3.mpq and look through the Units\ and Textures\ folders for something that looks right, or you can convert the .mdx file of the centaur you're working with to .mdl using Yobguls converter. Open the .mdl file with Notepad. Scroll down until you see the list of .blp's that the model calls for. Whichever one is the primary skin will be the directory and filename that you need to place your custom skin in.

Alternatively, you might have put the skin in the correct place, but that skin itself has been corrupted by the editing process. This can happen if you didn't save it in 32 bit .tga format, or possibly if you changed the proportions. Also, War 3 Viewer, while it's a great program, sometimes seems to improperly convert .tga's to .blp's, so if you used that, try remaking the skin (Cut and Paste from your old one should be fine) and re-converting it.

BTW, they handle both the skinning process and troubleshooting file importing and whatnot in the Skinning forum, so this really would be more appropriate over there.
On the other hand, you get a lot more traffic in the Map Dev. forum.

Umm a mod should move this to the skins forum, so someone does not see this and think it is ok to right about skins on this forum.
