I used search trying to find an answer to this but failed miserably (like usual)- I've noticed allot of people posting models for new structures, but I've yet to see any explanation of the animations/requirements for getting a STRUCTURE in game. Anyone seen a tutorial about it? It'd be much appreciated. Thanks. :D |

Maybe it would help if I post what I've done so far. I'm having a problem getting the model I've MADE into the game- the world editor just says it's unable to load it, and I get the checkered box, even though the path (Units/test.mdx) is correct. First, I followed Nicoli's guide- I did everything EXCEPT the animation portion. I'm trying to make a building- I'm assuming building's don't have a standing animation, maybe I'm incorrect? I exported the mdl per nicoli's guide, and edited it exactly as the guide said to. I then used yobgul's converter to make it into an mdx, and put it into the Warcraft 3/Units folder I made, and imported it using the import manager. I placed a modified farm using the test.mdx onto the map (Unable to load Units/test.mdl) - I restarted the world editor, same thing. I honestly can't tell what I'm doing wrong- can anyone tell me? ***Edit: Another wierd thing, if I load the custom model .mdx in War3Viewer, I CAN SEE IT JUST FINE! So frusrtating! >_< |

I think stand, stand work, brith, death, and decay are the standard building animations. |

Metroid, have you ever tried running the map? |

Yeah try that. Or save the map once you've imported it, and close+reopen the editor. Often when importing new models or other files the editor will not detect them until you have saved the map, closed, and reopened. |

It might help if you used \ instead of /. |
