Well I am currently working on a rpg, and I was wondering what type of camera do you prefer ? -Locked. -Totally free. -Half locked (you can move the camera around your hero, but you can't get it too far from him). When you have some warp in a map (like when you enter a building or have a fight with a boss), having a free cam means you can go and look the inside of a building you already visited even if you are not in it. That disturbs me, but I would like everyone's advice. |

Half locked...Would be slightly more realistic, like you're looking around a small cabin, or gazing across the open sea:D ...Oh, and of course changeable camera views would be nice...(Like first person, although highly complicated, and behindview, etc...) Edit: Just spelling corrections |

I use a camera that is locked, but arrow keys allow you to turn your head (it's also 3rd person) from side to side, allowing more freedom of view. |

3rd person doesnt work good because of the ****ing huge interface. |

Actually you can change view in my rpg (from locked to half locked), but if everyones prefer free cam i'll scrap it. |

You should also be able to go back to the normal War3 cam, as I'm sure some people will prefer. |

Make all 3 and have them selectable. Free cam will grab the majority, but big fans might enjoy first person better. |

I hate when there's a locked cam and sum1 alt+clicks on the mini-map. You try to scroll over and see what happens until you realize that u cant... :bgrun: |

I ought to precise that the rpg is singleplayer, so no problems of alt+click. Besides when you enter a town, the camera bounds are set to the whole town. It's the same for buildings and fighting zones. So the locked, half locked, free system should only apply when you travel, not when you fight or enter a place. |
