Dark Crescent Idea needed: Move Icon

What should the move icon look like? I can't decide what to make it look like, boots? an arrow? I can't decide, please give some ideas.

I have a strong theory that the first reply to each new thread must be stupid and pointless so:

Don't use a move icon - make the characters move using the button Q.

OR

You could always make them move based on what a player types.
Ex. "1337Dude: Move Up" The character patrols upwards till "1337Dude: stop" :D . Wouldn't be too trigger heavy - and you would get the added bonus of everyone hating your map for it having a unique yet gay feature (such as annoying *** camera angles).

Ok... Use my ideas because they are the most dumber!

I'd use a Boot icon... I don't like arrow move icons, they look too plain...

Yes, go with the boot.

And don't use an arrow for the attack icon, either. Use a sword, or axe, or gun, or a morningstar!:D

2 boots; one lifted slightly, and the other already set down. have the boots be made of leather with steel plates around the edges of the soles, and over the toe of the boot, with small bolts, and have long, white fur coming out of the top of the boot. Also, put a symbol of a Crescent on the front of the boots, and have the boots at an angle so that they are mostly from the side, but you can see part of the Crescent symbol. Render them in 3d, and have the light effects set so one light glistenes off the metal of the boots, while another lightens the rest, placed so that there is a slight shadow cast.

Is that descriptive enough?

Wow, quite, I'll work on that.

EDIT: I think all those effects will be a little advanced for me to do, anyone able to do it? If not, I'll do the best I can. Please PM me if you can.

Not right now, but, hopefully, in a day or two when I get 3D Studio Max 5, I'll be able to create things like that.

I have a current program that's alright, but it's such a tight-@$$, and won't allow alot of my things to work, because it's not very flexible. Also, it closes out all the time for no apparent reason.

Then draw it! Who cares if it's 'just an icon'?

I have all kinds of icons that are 3d rendered, like the gear ones at this forum.

Hmm... I can't do 3d. I'm just supposed to be the programmer of the Engine for DC, and do some minor UI graphics. Me can't do that.

Well, then I guess I'll have to forgive you, just this once... :ggani:

Anyways, good luck with DC! It sounds awesome! As for the icon, have maybe some drawn or 2D-style boots that look like leather with white fur coming out of the brim. This could be done 2D and wouldn't be too hard, or to draw, either.
