Like for instance, make marble able to be built on? This feature would be very very useful.... If anyone knows, please tell... |

Guest | One sneaky way of placing buildings on unbuildable tile is to take one of the generally-useless Neutral Passive 'City Building X' units, or any building-ish units listed in a race's Special category, and either replace them or base a new custom unit off of them. All such 'buildings' aren't treated as such by the game - i.e., you can place them on any traversable (walkable) terrain type, even unbuildable ones. From there, you should be able to make the stats identical to the base building you wanted. Make sure to adjust the pathing maps, etc. as needed. Grym |

Much easier in some ways:The part that makes a building buildable on a terrain is its pathing map. Change it to one of the other "special" buildings and you'll be able to build it on any terrain...However the normal world editor doesn't let you pick every pathing map in the game.... |

if u want a certain building to be able to be placed on unbuildable terrain set the pathing to "PathTextures\2x2Simple.tga" it will also allow them to be stacked and units can move through them.. |

You can use my map editor to edit pathing. ( http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/s...&threadid=2738 ) And if you don't like it, you can also extract the file called "\TerrainArt\Terrain.slk" from your war3.mpq. Then put it in a directory called "TerrainArt\" in your war3 directory. Edit it with Excel and keep the file format (answer "no" to the dialog when you save). There is a column called "buildable" I think, just put "1" instead of "0" where you need it. Then open your map with the WE, save it and remove/rename the slk file so you will not have version conflicts with other players when you play online (all the players need to have the same files so if you modify your they'd need it unless you remove yours ;) ). The pathing is computed using the slk file mentionned above when you open your map with the WE. Once you saved your map, pathing is saved and you can get ride of the slk until you need to edit your map again or create a new modified one. Enjoy the trick! |

Guest | I tried editing the pathing under an arch (build, fly, and walk only were activated) in the W3Z editor, then opened it with WorldEditor and the old pathing was back! How do I fix this? |
